Work smarter not harder. It's something I always remember Kelsey telling me when I was younger. Using your thinking skills to minimize tasks and extra steps.

"You know, stretching like that doesn't really work. You have to get on the ground and stretch. It works better" I whispered into hawks ear before sitting on the ground with my legs spread apart so I could stretch my torso muscles.
"How would you know?"
"I do yoga"
Hawk rolled his eyes and looked at Miguel who was struggling with his own problems.
"Dude, you spilled a glass of wine. So what?"
"You should've heard the way Mr.Larusso was talking about same future. I can't even afford a car, let along college. What if they think I'm not good enough?"
"Dude...You're El Serpiente. You're an All Valley champion. Just show Mr.Larusso what you're made of. You're gonna crush what he throws at us today"
"Compared to Sensei Lawrence's training, todays gonna be a vacation" assface piped up from the side with a smile before Mr. Larusso walked up on us.
"Who's going on vacation?"
"Uh, no one"

"Actually Mr.Larusso...I am" standing up off a rock I had moved from the the ground to, I walked towards the group.
"I was wondering if your family would like to come on vacation too. I thought it would be nice. Hawk and Miguel's family are invited along with Sensei Lawrence. It's just for a couple days. We rented a beach house mansion thing and I thought it would be great"
I smiled at him showing my pearly white teeth.
"I think that would be great Ophelia thank you. Let me talk to my wife later and I'll let you know" Mr.Larusso smiled back at me and smiled at Miguel also.
Hopefully this vacation would be good for us and be stress free before the All Valley championship.
"What have you got for us today?"
"Come here"
We all followed behind Sensei Larusso as he led us towards the water
"Now, I know you've all been taught to strike first. What do you do when your opponent is faster than you?"
"You slow down of course. Take a deep breath. Think and work smarter not harder to beat your opponent" I mused out to Sensei standing beside hawk.
Mr. Larusso gave me a small smile at that and opened his mouth to reply before assface started to get distracted.
"Are those real koi?"
"They sure are. Todays lesson is simple. Catch a fish. But since I know you eagle fang like a bit of competition, we're gonna make it interesting. So the first to succeed will have the honor of leading class all week"
No excitement was shared between the group besides me who of course whisper shouted yes and got a funny look from hawk and A small laugh from Sensei.
"And you get to pick out what flavor Gatorade I buy next"
"Aw, hell yeah! Hope you all like Glacial Freeze" ass face shouted which caused me to chuckle. If anybody was winning it was Miguel, Hawk or I
"Okay, where are the rods?"
"He wants us to catch a fish with our hands Miguel"
After saying this, everything was silent. You could hear the water running and the birds chirping.
I looked up at Mr.Larusso, Squinting my eyes at him because of the sun rays that were shooting through the trees "Right Sensei?" Mr.Larusso laughed lightly and shook his head with a smile down at me.
"Back in my garage. Your bare hands are all you'll use and all you'll need. Ophelia since you know the lesson today, you are excused.
Everybody else however, on your mark. Get set. Go!"
The pond was surrounded with all the members trying to catch a fish with the bare hands.

"Ophelia....Thanks for inviting my family and I on vacation with yours. I think we all need to get out of the house for a couple days" nodding at Sensei, I smiled and looked at hawk "Yeah I figured with the All Valley coming up, tensions would be high. And plus, my parents would love to meet my teachers of karate"
Before Sensei could reply, splashing could be heard along with the sound of laughing.
Walking over to the small pond, Miguel turned around in the pong absolutely drenched with a distraught look on his face.
"Looks like you're a little wet behind the ears. Alright, let's get you dried off"
Seeing the tears in his eyes as he looked down, I let out a small huff and put my arm out to pull him out.
"Let's go Miguel. We need to get you dried off and I think we should talk" giving him a small tight smile, I looked at Sensei who was holding the towel. Words didn't need to be exchanged in order to understand. Miguel was having problems and he needed someone new to talk to.
