Running around Piltover, laughing, holding hands, Jinx and Lux made their way to Caitlyn's family home. Jinx was ecstatic as ever. Lux finally let her hold her hand, and had agreed to her plan. Jinx knew that if they weren't friends before they were now. She always wanted a friend who'd stick with her, laugh with her, and be comfortable with her touch. Jinx looked over her shoulder every now and then they ran, Lux would be behind her, smiling or laughing, eyes squinted, and her free hand brought up to her chin. Her smile made jinx's face warm. Is there anything sweeter?

As they approached the Kiramman household, Jinx saw a good roof that had an overlook through Caitlyn's bedroom window.
"We'll go up on that roof there, get a look inside" jinx grinned pointing to the near by roof. Before Lux good speak, jinx tugged her on towards the fire escape of the building. When they reached it, Jinx went up first. It had a near perfect view at Caitlyn's window. Lux followed behind, slowly moving up each step. When she was nearly at the top, Jinx reached her hand down to assist Lux. She smiled and accepted Jinx's hand. Jinx carefully pulled Lux to the roof. Lux stumbled forward a little, Jinx catching her by her shoulders. Both of them paused, watching each others eyes. Jinx caught Lux pass a glance to her lips. Jinx quickly spun around, trying to play it off
"Careful princess, I don't want to have to carry you off to a doctor"
"Sorry, I'm not used to roof tops"
"Don't apologize blondie" jinx groaned pulling a pipe from her bag, and holding it up to her eye. She then held it down and blew a little air down it to get the dust out. Then she sat, patting the roof next to her, signaling for Lux to sit. Lux plopped down. Jinx offered the first look through the pipe to Lux, who closed one eye to focus through the pipe, and used one hand to help jinx hold it up. Jinx positioned it to the window. As their hands steadied, Lux suddenly jolted back from the pipe. Jinx looked at her, confused. Lux looked red.
"What's up Luxy?"
Lux bit her lip "they're uh-"
She didn't finish, but looked jinx in the eyes, and raised her eye brows, nodding in the windows direction. Her face seemed shocked. Jinx hesitated, then looked to the window, immediately pulling the pipe away.
"Uegh! I don't wanna see that! You shoulda just said so!" Jinx said before sticking her fingers down her throat trying to puke. Lux giggled at Jinx, despite what she just had to look at. Jinx let out a big groan
"They're so gross! They could at least close the window!" Jinx spat
"Should we wait?"
"Hell no, it'll be even more funny if we interrupt! Unless you wanna wait,"
Lux took a minute
"I guess it would work better if we did it now,"
Jinx's cheeks raised high with her lips.
"We should get over there quick" A more devilish smile appeared on her face. Jinx stuck her arms out and wiggled her fingers motioning for Lux to come over.
"Come on, it'll be fun!"
Lux hesitantly walked over, her face looked nervous.
Jinx quickly swept Lux off her feet into her arms. For someone so tall she didn't weigh all that much. Lux let out a whimper as she found herself in Jinx's arms, being held like a baby. Jinx looked down at Lux, who's face was entirely red, shocked, and confused.
"Ready?" Jinx said walking closer to the edge of the roof
"What are you gon-" before Lux could finish jinx dropped of the roof, onto a lower one. As Jinx made her way across the buildings, she felt Lux's arms gripping her shoulders, and her face tuck into her collar bone area. Lux's eyes were tightly shut, and her face was comparable to a solid red flame. Jinx let out a small chuckle at the sight as she continued to hop around roofs. They eventually found themselves on the rooftop of the Kirammans. When Jinx stopped, Lux didn't budge. Her face still planted in Jinx's torso. After a minute, Lux slowly opened her eyes, finding Jinx wearing a smug smile. Jinx observed her face get even redder. They again stared into each others eyes. Lux a face of embarrassment, Jinx with her smug grin.
"Can I put you down yet princess?"
Lux's eyes grew wider, like she'd woken up from a day dream
"Wh-what? Yeah"
Jinx gently set Lux on her feet. Lux straightened her shirt, and avoided jinx's eyes. She kept her head turned from jinx trying to hide her red face. Jinx knew she'd gone a little far with her teasing. She sighed
"Sorry if I scared you Luxy" jinx said, in a softer tone than usual, before digging in her bag for a bomb. She fishes out one painted with gold and royal blue, just for Lux.
"Do you want to or do you want me to?"
Jinx asked holding them bomb out in front of Lux. Lux took a deep breath, and took the bomb from jinx, staring at it in her palms. Jinx smiled. Lux walked over to the edge of the roof, jinx sticking close behind to make sure lux didn't slip.
"Easy Blondie, it won't kill them, they aren't dumb enough to let it, besides this is just a little one"
"Alright, im gonna go for it" lux said glancing at jinx quickly. Lux quickly pulled the pin and tossed the bomb through the window below, just hard enough for it to break through the glass.
"Shit! Cait get down!" Vi yelled from inside. Jinx hated hearing the enforcers nickname come out of vi's mouth.
The explosion boomed. The roof rattled, but lux and jinx kept their balance. Quickly jinx dove to another roof top and his at the slant. There were more voices from inside the house
"Cait! Are you alright?"
"I'm fine! Put something on we need to get out there" a minute later the taller enforcer followed vi out on to the roof top. Their faces dusty and hair messy. As soon as they got up, they saw a blond girl, curled up, her knees tucked to her chest and her head buried in her legs. Jinx watched from nearby, Caitlyn and vi exchanged confused looks, then vi got aggressive, grabbing lux's collar.
"What the hell?! Did you just bomb us!?"
Lux had tears in her eyes. Although Jinx knew they were fake, it still bothered to see her like that. Vi loosed Lux's collar and stepped back. Then the real show began
"I-I'm sorry... I didn't have a choice! I didn't want to hurt you I swear!" Lux sobbed
Caitlyn and Vi totally bought it. Caitlyn walked over, placing a hand on lux's shoulder. Jinx cringed.
"It's alright, tell us what happened"
"It's fine?! Cait she just-"
"Vi it's okay, she seems to be in more trouble than us right now"
Lux sniffled
"I-I... I don't think I can say it here, she might hear me.."
Caitlyn and vi looked at each other, like they were telepathically speaking. Jinx didn't like the sight. The sister stealing enforcer, her sister falling for the enforcers tricks, and Lux, sweet Lux crying. Jinx kept reminding herself it was fake, but couldn't help but feel like wanting to give Lux a hug. It was painful watching Lux slowly follow them back down through the window. The plan had passed the first stage. Jinx groaned and walked over the the ledge about the window. She sat criss-crossed and let her braids flow in the wind. She hated knowing Lux was with Vi and Caitlyn instead of her. What if they tried something? What if they hurt her? What if they figured it out? Jinx started to panic. Quietly, she slipped through the window, to find Lux sat on what remained of the bed. She looked at jinx shocked
"Jinx- they're going to be back any minute!" She whisper yelled. Jinx grinned, and slid underneath the wedged bed frame. As she pulled in her braids, the door clicked. Even the situation was much more dangerous, jinx felt better now that she could monitor Lux. Vi and Caitlyn approached Lux. Caitlyn walked in front, she'd interrogated people before. Vi just stood in the back like the scary muscle. Jinx wanted to tell Lux she wouldn't let anything happen, but she couldn't with Vi and Caitlyn there.
"You can start with your name" Caitlyn asked igniting the interrogation.
"I-I'm Lux.." she sniffled
"Well Lux, who were you working for?"
"Promise you won't let her get me?" Lux asked, 'desperation' in be eyes
Caitlyn nodded, growing a worried look. Jinx peeked out from the slanted bed frame, not enough for them to see. It enraged it to see Caitlyn get close to Lux.
"She's called..."
Lux paused
"...Jinx"
"Damn it!" Vi yelled
"Why does she have to drag more people into this? I cant believe I let her get like this!"
Caitlyn gave vi a worried look, and reached for vi's hand.
"This isn't your fault Vi, it's Jinx's."
Vi groaned and stepped back to the wall, where she leaned. None of her words meant much to Jinx, she'd chosen Caitlyn, not her.
"Lux, why did you help her"
"S-she said if I didn't she'd... kill my family"
Vi and Caitlyn shared. A shocked looked. Jinx almost wanted to laugh. Lux would probably prefer her family get killed.
"You're safe now Lux. How can we get you home safe?"
"I shouldn't...she has ways of finding me. The moment I leave this house I-..."
Lux formed tears in her eyes again. Caitlyn leaned to hug Lux. Jinx could barely see but she could tell Caitlyn was hugging her. She wanted to crawl out from under the bed and best Caitlyn to death. She wanted to assure Lux that Caitlyn would never lay another finger on her. Jinx's gaze went to vi, who had more of a jealous look. What an idiot, actually falling for an enforcer who probably just sees her as lowly scum. Caitlyn pulled away from Lux, who lightly cried.
"I'll get the guest bedroom ready for you. You can stay here till it's safe"
Vi scoffed from behind Caitlyn, who ignored her. Jinx was actually a little relieved, Lux would have her own room, with a door and lock, so they could chat without getting interrupted.
"Stay here vi, I'll go get it ready" Caitlyn said rushing out the door. Vi kept a glare on Lux
"How do you know her?"
"I-I was just out with a friend at that bar.. she came up and said there was a lot of money, but then when I didn't want to she threatened my family..."
"Do you know anything about her?"
"No.. just that she had a lot of power.."
Vi walked up to her.
"Her name isn't Jinx. It's Powder. Anything she does isn't really her. I'm trying to get the real her back"
Jinx cringed. She hadn't lied to Lux, just hid the truth. And now Lux was going to hate her. Great. Fantastic, her sister ruins everything, again. Jinx hated the whole thing Vi had about her changing. Why couldn't she just accept her?
Jinx's thoughts broke off when Lux spoke
"I-I didn't know that. I just want to live.."
Jinx didn't know what to think. She wanted to explain so bad. It was like an out of reach itch.
Vi continued
"I'm her sister, I know she seems terrible but deep down, she's got a good heart"
"I hope you're right" Lux sniffled.
Before jinx couldn't even think, Caitlyn walked in. She starred vi, then Lux down, making sure they hadn't hurt each other.
"Your room is ready, I'll let you settle in, then I'll need to ask you a few more questions."
Lux nodded, and stood up from the bed, walking to Caitlyn's side.
"Wait here Vi"
Lux and Caitlyn left, leaving jinx with her sister. She wanted to crawl out from under the bed and force Vi to apologize. But right now, Lux was more important. Jinx dragged her into this, and they were gonna succeed, and they were going to get her out. After a few minutes, Caitlyn came in.
"This is going to be hard to fix"
She said staring at the Smokey pit on the floor.
"Until then, we can stay in the other guest room" Caitlyn added
Jinx cringed at 'we'.
"Sorry i got mad, cupcake. It's just, powder.."
Jinx heard Caitlyn sit next to vi on the bed above her.
"It's okay, she'll come around some day" vi didn't sound like she was in the mood to argue
"Thanks cait."
Jinx almost belched at the sound of a quick kiss. She started to wonder if it would be best if she had just died sometime sooner. Thankfully, Caitlyn and Vi left the room after they kissed. Jinx crawled fro underneath the bed, and brushed herself off. Visible clouds of dust and ash clouded around her. Her mind the went to finding Lux. Caitlyn hadn't been gone long, so the room must have been near. She quietly snooped around, cracking doors to peek inside. After about 4 rooms, she found Lux. She swung the door open and quietly closed it behind her. Lux sat on the twin bed and smiled at Her. Jinx quickly locked the door before walking over the Lux. Jinx stretched her arms wide and leaned into Lux, giving her a big hug. Lux wrapped her arms around jinx's back.
"Your act was almost to believable princess"
"Did I scare you?" Jinx felt Luxs smile on her shoulder
"Yeah, but I wouldn't let them do anything to you Luxy" Jinx said pulling out of the hug and smiling. She was proud of herself for being honest.
"Really?" Lux asked, confusing jinx a little
"Of course Luxy. You're my best friend! I won't let anyone hurt you." Jinx said patting the top of Lux's blond head.
"You planning on staying here tonight?" Jinx asked as she through herself into the wooden desk chair next to the bed.
"Yeah, the plan won't work if they find me gone."
Lux paused
"How about you?"
"Me?"
"No jinx the wall."
Jinx looked at her mindlessly
"Yes, you"
"I'd be risky and, there's not really room for me, sorry Princess, I know you like watching me sleep"
Lux turned a pink
"I don't- " Lux sighed
"If you want to you can stay, someone as short as you won't take up much space" Lux giggled. "If you want me to so bad, I'll stay" jinx groaned ignoring the height comment. All jinx could think about is how much Lux reminded her of that basic, soft, and innocent girl everyone wanted as their best friend. The type to listen to everything you had to say, the type to enjoy every moment, the type to take care of you when you're sick, even if she had plans. Jinx had never felt so lucky, which wasn't normal with her usual bad luck. Then jinx remembered what vi had told Lux
"About what vi said to you luxy... she wasn't completely lying."
Lux looked at jinx a little confused
"I use to be called powder. But, she was weak. I'm not her anymore. That part of my life was as if it wasn't my own, yknow..." jinx hated talking about her in the past. It was embarrassing, the weak little kid she was.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you Luxy."
Jinx's head faced the floor. She waited for something bad to lurk out of luxs lips. But she was replied to with Lux's soft hand on her cheek. She looked up, Lux smiled at her. Jinx felt her face get warm, but she welcomed it.
"It's alright Jinx, you are who you are now, and nothing will stop me from wanting to stick with you" jinx smiled, she felt each of Lux's fingers on her cheek. They were soft, and warm, and small. Jinx raises her own hand and placed it over lux's.
"Thanks Princess"
