Lockdown in Hogwarts

Vela Luciana's POV

The group and I were sitting on the couches at the Common Room. We were chattering while eating the sweets that Theo bought for us at Honeydukes.

We were laughing at what Theo said until we heard a loud 'bang'

We quickly looked at the entrance of the common room and we saw Professor Snape entering with his robes flowing behind him.

'dramatic entrance as always' I mentally said

Professor Snape looked at me with squinted eyes when I thought about that and I nervously gulped remembering he can easily read minds.
I sheepishly smiled at him and awkwardly waved.

He rolled his eyes but I did see his lips turned upwards a bit.

"Good Evening, Slytherins. I am here to inform you that Hogwarts will currently be on lockdown" said Snape with his monotone voice

The students were looking at each other while whispering

"Headmaster Dumbledore has decided to put the school into lockdown as soon as he found out about Sirius Black breaking in" he added

The whisperings got louder and students especially the younger years were shaking from fear

"Dumbledore has demanded for the students to go to the Great Hall immediately." said Snape

The students were still looking at Snape waiting for further instructions

"Are you deaf? I said immediately, now go and get your things!" he said loudly

The students frantically stood up and went to their dormitories to change into their evening clothes.

A few minutes went by

We were in the Great Hall and were listening to Dumbledore's announcement.

"Students of Hogwarts! I believe your Head of House has informed you about the lockdown that is currently happening here at this school. As you all know, Sirius Black, a Mass Murderer who has—unfortunately—escaped from Azkaban has broken in at this school! That is why you students are here right now. You will be sleeping here in the Great Hall this evening until the Professors and I are sure that the school grounds are safe" said Headmaster Dumbledore

The students worriedly looked at each other and whispered

"Now, off to bed!" he added "Pip-pip!"

The students got their sleeping bags and pillow and went to their assigned area.

"Sleeping bags?! Seriously??" Draco scoffed

"I can't believe I'm sleeping on the floor! Mother will be so disappointed" Daphne sadly shook her head

"They could've at least transfigured a bed!" Melody complained

We placed our sleeping bags on the floor and reluctantly laid down.

Daphne is beside Pansy, Pansy is in between Melody and Daphne, and I'm laying beside Melody.

"Goodnight Girls" I bid them

"Goodnight V!" They whispered back

A few minutes went by

Everyone is now asleep except for me.
Sleep couldn't find me since I'm worried about Sirius Black possibly breaking in and slash us students.

I couldn't help the fear growing inside me.
I mean, who wouldn't be afraid of a mass murderer breaking in your school and maybe attempt to murder someone again? what if it kills me?! now I'm ten times more scared.

'Oh Salazar help me' I mentally said

Suddenly, I heard some footsteps and I immediately froze. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my heavy breathing although it's difficult since I could hear the footsteps getting louder like it's going near me.

My eyes are still close and the footsteps stopped. I tried to open my eyes and when I did I jumped from fear seeing Snape looking down at me. Thank Merlin I covered my mount from shouting. I closed my eyes and sighed in relief

"Professor! Merlin, you scared me" I said

"I knew you were awake" Snape whispered

"really?" I whispered back

"I could practically sense your fear, child" said Snape

I sighed heavily and sat up.
Snape carefully kneeled down beside me trying not to wake the others up.

"Are you alright, child?" Snape worriedly said

"I'm scared Uncle Sevy" I whispered using the nickname I gave him when I was 5, trying not to make my voice crack. I looked down so he couldn't see my teary eyes.

He carefully lifted my chin and wiped my tears.

"Come on, lay down—it's alright I'm here" Snape gently whispered to me

I laid down and looked up at my Godfather

"Don't worry, child." said Snape

"nothing and no one is going to hurt you as long as I'm here" he gently whispered while gently caressing my head

"Promise Uncle Sevy?" I whispered while I held out my pinky finger

Snape chuckled and held out his pinky finger and locked it with mine

"I promise"
