"Sejal ! Dr.Sejal !", I called out but she didn't wait. A lot of people continued to stare at me. I realised that I hadn't masked up. I pulled out my mask quickly.
"Just leave me alone Tejas. For a while..", she said as she paced up.
"What happened ? Who's Avinash ?", I asked.
"No one", she continued to walk away. That's when she tripped again. And was about to fall. Again.
"Phew", I caught her just in time. That's when I noticed - I covered almost 5 meters within a second. How could I..
"Why am I so clumsy ?", she started crying again.
"Chup. Bilkul chup", I said dramatically
as I couldn't believe what just happened.

"Neha ma'am !!", I rushed in along with Dr.Sejal.
"That was pretty quick", Neha ma'am commented.
"I think I have some speed left in me."
"In that case, we should run some tests right ?", she asked Dr.Sejal. "Am I right Dr.Sejal ?"
"Yes yes. I'll guide him", Dr.Sejal replied.
We got a couple of tests and scans done in the laboratory itself. Whatever the venture was about, I knew it was going to be grand.
"Now this is something interesting", Neha ma'am pointed out at some white chalky areas in my X-ray. They were scattered all over.
"What is that white thing over the other kidney.. why is it so bright ?", I asked.
"It's your adrenal glands.. I need to know what these deposits are of", Dr.Sejal said. "Come here we need a biopsy."
She came with a needle. Uh oh.
"Close your eyes", she instructed.
"Why ?"
"Just do it !"
"Yikes !!"
"Don't move !"
Both the women started their experiments. You know, what they show in movies - mixing chemicals, adjusting machines. Finally, Sejal screamed - "Eureka !!"
"What is it ?", Neha ma'am asked.
"It's Frequenium", she smiled.
"Now that explains why I absorbed that electricity", I remarked. "Frequenium is one hell of a metal. Nobody knows where it came from. All I know is that my protro-magnet at my back had it."
"Not to forget, Vedant has a full body armour made of Frequenium", Dr.Sejal added as she continued to experiment further.
"This machine in your back.. Omkar made it right ?", Neha ma'am asked.
"Yes you are right. But I didn't mention it before.. How do you know ?", I asked.
"I saw him sketching something similar in his notepad. So I guessed it."
"Ohh."
I decided to spend the night in the lab itself as I had no place to live now. My house was sealed for safety purpose. It turns out even Baba was infected. Aai and Baba were in the CoV ward. Dr.Sejal had assured me that they will recover soon.
"We'll meet tomorrow", Neha ma'am said as she packed her things.
"Ok cool", I said.
"I wanted to shut this place down actually. Tejas wants to stay here sure. But what about you Dr.Sejal ?", she asked.
"You can leave it to me. I'll pack up soon and go", Dr.Sejal said as she took the keys from Neha ma'am.
"I'll get going then, Akshit must be waiting. Bye !", Neha ma'am said as she left.
"So Tejas..", Dr.Sejal kept away the chemicals. "You asked me who Avinash was.."
"Yeah but you can tell me whenever you are comfortable..", I reassured her.
"Don't worry. I'm comfortable now.. Back in medical college, me, Uma and Avinash were best friends. Our trio was the notorious one. We would fool around all day doing fun. Day by day, I felt an attraction towards him. I started to like him. But I couldn't take the big leap. So I told Uma about it. She said I should take the chance. But before I could do anything, mom came to know about it..", Dr.Sejal started her monologue.
"Wait. Let me just process it... Yeah proceed", I said.
"So, when mom came to know, she met him personally and asked him to get away from my life. She believed he wasn't fit enough for me. Mostly because he came from a poor background and wasn't good at the academics as well. But he was a good human.. I never saw him after that. Until the train accident.."
"I'm sorry.."
"No it's not your fault."
"Neither is it yours", I said as I cupped her cheeks. "You look funny."
"What ?!..", that's when she noticed how close our faces were. She gasped and moved away.
"I don't want the same thing to happen with you", she said.
"I'm well beyond that stage actually. Your mom asked me to stay away from you the day you stopped answering my calls.."
"I was scared Tejas.. scared of facing you. I like you.. but I don't like the You that's within you."
"What ?!"
"Ik that you are the type of guy that wants marriage, kids, family, then kids ki marriage, their family, grandkids.. but I can't. I just simply can't-"
"Who told you I want all this ?", I asked. "All I want is someone I can hold on to. With all the hope I've. I just want someone who can give me stability when I get lost in this infinite ocean of power..", I said as I cupped her cheeks again.
"I just want you", I said as I brought her closer. "I love you Sejal. I've always have loved you.. be it Timeline-1,2,3 or any other. In these variable timelines, my love for you is the only constant."
"I love you too Tejas", Sejal landed her lips on mine. I ran my fingers through her free hair. She moaned softly as my hand slid onto her bare waist. I grabbed it and pulled her towards me.

Sejal unbuttoned my shirt, revealing my muscles. She kissed all of it and proceeded to move down. But, I pulled her up and kissed her again.
"I don't think we should be doing this", I obstructed Sejal as she proceeded to remove her top. "Ah well, fuck it", she said and pushed me to the empty table.
Sejal moaned as I entered her. With each thrust, I felt speed surge inside me. I didn't how but it seems my powers were really back.
