Chapter 14 : Aftermath

[ Sejal's POV ]

I opened my eyes. I found Tejas just staring at me. His eyes wide open. He looked like he just saw a ghost.
"How did this happen ? Why did this happen ?", he said as he stood up all of a sudden.
"Arghh.. let me remind you - you aren't having any clothes on you", I told him as he started panicking. It was morning now, I realised that we slept on the wooden flooring itself last night.

"I couldn't control myself !! What have I done ?!", He continued his melodrama as he searched for his jeans.
"Tejas, cool down. It's making me uncomfortable now", I complained but it didn't stop his antics.

"I have committed a sin ! Oh God, please forgive me !", he started chanting. I doned on my apron to finish my clothing.
And there he was shirtless and freaked out. That's when I noticed the Trishul tattoo on his shoulder.

"That looks cool. Didn't notice it the last night", I remarked.
"Sejal, do you even understand what we've done ? I had se.. I mean physical relations with a person who isn't my wife.. I'm a sinner..", Tejas said as he went back to his full fledged religious mode. I spotted his T-shirt lying on the rack. I pulled it off and went towards him.

"Who said I am not your wife ?", I smiled.
"What ?!", he gave me a look of surprise and sheer happiness.
"Don't get your hopes high, I'm not going to marry you so soon", I said as I started to walk away.
"But it means you accepted my proposal !"
"You sure you even proposed me in the first place-", But he didn't let me complete my sentence as he swooped towards me and kissed me. I kissed him back.

"What the fuck !"
We backed off instantly. It was Mrs.Neha. Tejas panicked again and started to search for his T-shirt. I handed it over as I realised it.
"Don't tell me you actually did it here..", she seemed horrified.

I couldn't speak anything. No excuses this time Sejal.

"And how's he running again so fast ?", she decided to break the ice.
"Arey ha, now that I realise it. I actually feel fast. Not the speed I had, but yeah it's faster than normal", he said as he put his T-shirt back on. "So now I'm expecting another round of tests ?"

"Dr.Sejal, you and I need to have a talk first", she said. It was more like Dr.Sejal, you've screwed up enough.

"I'm going to have a long chat with your mom regarding this. What her princess is upto !", she said. We were in her cabin where she was literally interrogating me.
"It was an accident. It just happened so fast. We couldn't control it", I said.

"I understand Tejas is always like this. But I thought you were decent."
"I'm still decent. And how's all this my fault ?", I asked.

"We are women Sejal. We are the ones who face the consequences. Guys like Tejas just run away. As a mother, I'm telling you. Be careful from next time onwards", she ended her lecture. Finally.

"Is she mad about happened ?", Tejas asked as I came out of Mrs.Neha's cabin.
"Ofcourse she is. Also, we didn't notice that this area is filled with CCTVs. So another thing she has to do is to delete the recordings. But she'll also has to explain it why.. to everyone on the board", I explained.

"You sure she will delete it ?"
"I won't delete something like this if I was her. But that's not our concern right now", I said as I wrote a prescription.

"Get these from a medical if you don't want me to get pregnant before our marriage", I gave him the paper.
"Yeah.. sure", he said as he left.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I realised why Tejas was staring at me when I got up. I literally looked like a ghost with my messed up hair and mascara.

"Here", Tejas rushed in.
I took the emergency pill and put the pregnancy kit in my pocket. "Let's get to REDZ, I need to run some tests", I said as we proceeded to my car.

I had left my mobile in the car. I checked it as I started the engine. 47 missed calls. Mom ?
Shit.

I drove the car to my house. "Tejas, just lie down and hide yourself !"
"You told me we were going to REDZ !", he protested.
"There's a slight change in plan", I said as I entered the gate and parked the car.

"Sejal Beta, what is this ? You look horrible", Mom greeted me with her kind words.
"Funny", I remarked as I went to my room. "Before you ask anything, I was at ASPEX. You could ask Mrs.Neha Jamadar if you want. We were chalking out plans for our new joint venture."

I got ready within minutes as I rushed back. "Where are you going now ?", Mom asked again.
"REDZ Ofcourse !"
"You aren't going anywhere. We have guests coming to see you"
"Mom, I told you Lalit is a creep. He is not even a good doctor. He just has some political relations, that's why you think he's influential."

"I know. That's why, it's not Lalit who's going to see you. There is a nice boy I haven't told you about. He is such a sweet guy. He handles everything with so ease-"
"Mom, I have to go. It's an emergency."
"You promised me yesterday to follow all of my orders", she started the emotional drama again.
"I prefer duty over promises", I said as I put on my white coat. "Mom, you know if at any point of my life, you would have praised me.. your daughter like you did for this stranger boy, I wouldn't have thinked twice before following your orders", I said as I left.

"Sejal wait !", Mom ran behind me as I made my way to my car.
"Mom, I know you care about me. I know why you are doing this", I said as I opened the car's door for her. "You don't want me to become like dad, to have the some fate as him.."

Mom sat inside the car. "You don't want me to try doing something that a normal person normally avoids - Taking risks."
She nodded. That's when she noticed Tejas at the backseat.

"And that's exactly what I'm go to do", I smiled as I started the car.
