Damian looked at the calender.
Has it been a year already? He wondered.A year had passed since Lady Justice had been found. The public doesn't know that though. To them, Lady Justice had died, while trying to escape from the vigilantes.
A statement made by the Batman. And nobody dared to question him.
After that, the city seemed to be pretty happy and calm. The population seemed to have increased, so had the development. And their sales were rising fourfold.
Of course, it would, after all their competition had been eliminated.
The Bat family had released Daisy Chimera unharmed, only on the condition that she confessed to the police for all the crimes she had ever committed.
She was released and she lived up to her promise. She had no choice, really. They had all evidence gathered, and the police was way better than the media in Gotham.
The police would only arrest you.The media? They would tear you down to the bone, rip the bones to shreds and when they are done, they wouldn't even leave the shreds behind.
The media in Gotham were like a hungry pack of wolves.
Well, that way, many of the victims and their families got the closure. Justice to them, was served.
Damian's phone let out a BEEP, reminding him that he would be late.
Just last month, he was late to a meeting with Kagami because he was too caught up in his head.
Triple checking everything, he drove off to Cassandra's guest house.
He was cautious this time. He had texted her, to avoid a situation like last week.
Ever since Cassandra started dating that doctor guy, some time last year, he has been extremely EXTREMELY cautious.
He entered the house and into the hall, where most of his family was waiting with big smiles. They couldn't help it. He had one too.
Cassandra stood in the centre with a laptop in her hand, a pack of soft drinks in the other.
The situation reminded him about what had happened exactly a year ago.
That time when she dragged him by the sleeve to Marinette's room.

"Cain! Where are you dragging me?" He fussed.
"Listen to me, Dami," she instructed, "When I hit your hand, I want you to call out to Marinette. Just call out her name, OK?"
He was confused, but he agreed.
She was the psychologist after all. They entered the room to see a distraught Marinette, hiding under her blanket.
He reached out to calm her down, but Cassandra stopped him.
"Marinette?" She called out and out poked a head looking through the edge of the blanket with wide blue eyes.
It took everything in him not to smile. How could he not, when she looked so adorable?
Shaking his head, he kept a poker face.
"Marinette, are you all right?" She asked her,
"Is there an issue?"She lowered the blanket, but her face remained sad.
