"Everyone says that you fall in love once, but that's not true. Because every time I see you, I fall in love with you all over again.

-Zachary Tyler

Madeline's P.O.V [Flashback]

I rolled over on my side, trying to hide the blush that was slowly starting to make its way onto my cheeks. Zachary crept up on me minutes ago and engulfed me into a hug, sharing the specks of dirt and chunks of mud.

After spotting my disgusted look, he showered me with kisses, catching all the spots that were previously left clean.

He lost his balance and slipped, taking me down with him. My hair was sprawled all over my face in an un-attractive way which he just smiled at. He brushed the strands of hair away and planted a kiss where his fingers previously grazed.

"I can't believe you dived in mud from that obstacle course and had the guts to hug me!" I exclaimed, using everything within me to keep a straight face.

He chuckled lightly and continued to slather mud on my arms, making me his twin mud buddy.

"It's funny how you say that when you didn't even bother pushing me away Madeline," He whispered, using his wrist to wipe away the dirt from his eyes.

"Next time, I'm going to punch you in your balls."

"So, I'm assuming you don't want children in the future then?" He asked, stroking his chin and tapping his foot.

I gasped and shook my head frantically,"Are you crazy? That's the first thing I want, right after I graduate from college!"

"How on earth am I supposed to produce children with air then?" He inquired, laughing hysterically at the idea.

"Who said that my children would belong to you Mr. Tyler?" I pursed my lips together and held my breath, waiting for his reaction.

"When you were sleep-talking, you admitted that you wanted me to have your children because you wanted them to have my blue eyes and cute freckles," He stated, air quoting the word 'cute.'

I shook my head in disbelief and mentally self palmed myself,"We are too close you know that right?"

He shrugged in reply and proceeded to pull his shirt over his head,"Too close if you ask me."

I looked up at the vibrant sky and at the birds that were flying, inhaling the fresh scent of the flowers that surrounded us.

"I challenge you to live a day without me, that means no communication whatsoever. No phone calls, texts or surprise visits. If you pass this test and manage to survive, my heart is yours forever," I challenged, poking him in the chest.

"Deal," He agreed.

Even though Zachary gave up at the last minute of the challenge and showed up at my door step with a defeated look, I already knew that deep inside, my heart was already his.

It was always his to begin with.

And always will be.

The thought of giving your precious, delicate heart to someone sounded scary to me. My heart had already been cheated, stabbed and burned. . .

And I wasn't interested in putting my prized possession through it all over again.
