The kiss had stayed on your mind for hours. It wasn't easy to forget something like that, especially for a girl like you. Cute boys, successful dates, and movie-star worthy kisses were just not a thing that registered in your life up until this point. It was like watching yourself replay the moment from afar every chance you got. Slow, calculating where you went so right.

While brushing your teeth, you thought of Jake Kiszka.

While snuggling into your bed for the night, you thought of Jake Kiszka.

While waking up in the morning the first thing on your mind, Jake Kiszka.

The man had told you to think of him, and god was it working it's charm in full force. He must've been evil, a mastermind, or a menace to society with the way he exuded himself. So confident in his own ability to make a girl like you go weak in the knees.

The morning after the affair, on Sunday, you laid awake staring at the white crusted ceiling of your apartment. Your eyes remained focused on the water damage above your head as you recounted the kiss over and over. You didn't understand why it was having such a huge effect on you, it was just a kiss... but no. You had never been taken in such a way. Strong arms, tender lips, and deep eyes... You were lost in thought just remembering it for the millionth time.

Just as you were recounting the night in your head again, there was a harsh knock at your door. "(Y/N)? Hellooo?" The voice called.

You groaned, throwing a pillow over your head to scream into as Annie twisted the doorknob and let herself into your living space. You felt her body plop down on the end of your bed just as you were finishing up a good scream.

"That bad, huh?" She asked, voice dripping in dry worry. You removed the pillow from your face, throwing it haphazardly next to you as you rose from your lying position. You scrubbed at your face with your hands as you turned to look at her, frowning. Annie flashed you a smile. "Aw there, there." She mocked, giggling when you huffed at her.

"No, Annie, you don't get it!" You exasperated, hands falling in your lap. "It was everything a girl could dream for... and somehow more!" You whined to her, squinting to watch her blurry face change expression. She was obviously confused by your conundrum.

"But... you seem upset?" She said. You nodded, collapsing your hands together in your lap nervously.

"I am. He's perfect. Like, seriously." You said, twirling your thumbs as you thought of a way to express to her just what you were feeling. "He's funny, so funny. He loves all the music I do," you chewed your cheek, thinking of your next words carefully, "and he showed up late but made up for it because he paid for my drinks and didn't check his phone once!"

"Not even once?"

"Not even once!" You hollered, voice squeaking from the early morning use and frantic screaming you let out just minutes before. "I mean, what kind of a guy does that?!"

"The kind of guy who you only read about in teen magazines and watch in your favorite shitty rom-coms..." She squinted, staring down at the outdated carpeted floor of your room, "..which means you might've found your perfect match!"

That only made you groan again, falling back down onto your bed to lay on your side. You brought a pillow to your chest, squeezing it against yourself. "I can't be too sure Annie," you muttered, "I've only really known the guy for, what, a total of like... maybe 24 or so hours?"

Annie flopped down to lay beside you, stealing your pillow so you would look at her. You squinted and she snorted, wiggling her eyebrows.

"But who's really counting?" She joked.
