The morning after the confession you laid in bed with Jake lazily until both of you felt energized enough to shower and find a safe place to snuggle on the living room couch. The energy was buzzing off of you two, filling his shared apartment with the energy of renewal. A new relationship (even if it had been a long time coming) was centered and you felt it in yourself to appreciate such intimate moments with Jake.
As you both were situated on his couch together, bodies squished into the leather of the furniture, you ran your hands absentmindedly through the wet locks of his hair, working hard to gently untangle the mess. You tried to focus your attention on the decor of his living space, taking in the style of it all, but it was hard when Jake was so content with the intimacy you provided.
It was strange. Even though the two of you had shared months of "talking" and "dating around" you realized only now that you really had never been to Josh and Jake's shared space before. Still, as you absentmindedly continued to stroke Jake's hair your eyes eventually did wander to take in the decor of his apartment.
Really, the way it all fit together made so much sense. The eclectic style of all of Josh and Jake's items spread throughout the space, the various dirty clothes thrown askew in random areas, and even the scent of mahogany and pachiloui in the air formed an environment that was just so... right. It was definitely a well-lived space and you found it endearing that so much of Jake's self was projected in the finer details.
There was a guitar rack in the corner of the living room which was home to more than six different bodies. The subtle little details took over your attention as you noticed bits and pieces and began to put the full image in your head: an amp close to a recliner in the corner of the living room; how all of their living appliances and furniture looked almost second-hand (like both of the boys refused to spend their money on anything new); all the live plants scattered among everything (every windowsill, all over the kitchen and even the bathroom) resembles some green gardening space for the boys. It was homey in a way that made you feel like the place was out of some retro fairy-tale.
Jake caught you staring around when he felt your hands begin to slow to a stop from your earlier mintrations. From his position (nestled on top of you, his head was resting on your chest) he smirked and sat up a bit, nudging his head into your hand again almost like a needy cat.
"What's on your mind?" He asked. You resumed petting his soft hair to appease him when he kept nudging into your hand (what a dork), looking away from the miscellaneous correlation of the apartment to his face.
"I've never been here before, I was just thinking all of this stuff is so... you." You told him, kissing the top of his nose. Jake scrunched his face slightly from the ticklish feeling, looking away to gaze around his place and then back at you.
"You think? Josh keeps leaving his dirty laundry everywhere-" You snorted as Jake began to point out small details around his place. "But," he slowed his speech down and gazed at you with his signature little grin, "I'm glad I can share my space with you."
That made your heart skip a little beat. Of course he was smooth, you knew that... but even now he still made you blush.
You cupped Jake's face into your hands and pulled him into a kiss, sitting up a little to get a better angle. Jake kissed you back and sighed into it, his hands coming to rest on either side of you, caging you in.
You both lazily made out for just a moment, the wind outside the window being the only noise besides the heated sound of your growing adoration for each other. When Jake pulled away it was to take a breath and say, "I'm pretty lucky to have a girl like you, huh?"
You tried to hide the way your cheeks seemed to flame a brighter red and pushed his face away from your own, sticking your tongue out at him. "You're a huge sap." You snorted.
