There were a lot of ways to wake up in the morning, but a harsh slam of your door and the sound of a crestfallen woman in her early twenties was one you were less than excited to admit had become a normal occurrence in your shared apartment.

Annie stormed into your room after absolutely no regard for the hinges on your door or your privacy, waltzing her way to your closet. You blearily blinked at the sounds of her shuffling through hangers, groaning as you detached yourself from the warm body wrapped around your waist to sit up and rub the sleep out of your eyes.

"Uh, hello?" You said, voice cracking at the lack of use since it seemed to be so early for you still. You squinted against the harsh light filtering in from the cracks in your blinds, trying to adjust yourself to now being awake against your will. You felt Jake shift from beside you, but he didn't wake, only tossed himself to his other side and snored.

"I'm in need of one of your grandma cardigans." Annie replied from her spot in front of your closet, rummaging through your hangers one after another. She hadn't even turned to face the bed yet, seemingly focused on what was in front of her eyes.

"One of my wha...?" You said, wake enough now as you watched her pull a hanger out of your closet to hold up to the light, testing her eyes on the sight of it to see if she could deem it useful. "Oh."

"Yeah it's getting pretty chilly out and I just needed something to cover up-" Annie made a sharp turn on her heel to face you now, movements halting when her eyes landed on your disheveled state and the looming figure still fast asleep beside you.

You made eye contact with her, watching as she held your gaze for a short moment. You watched her gaze drift from your own to the body beside you that was nestled in the sheets, then back to you. Then back to Jake. Then back to you.

"Annie-"

"Oh. My. God. I knew it!" Annie hollered, voice reaching on octave that was not pleasant on your freshly-woken ears. You winced, shooting your hands up in defense immediately to stop her from making any further comments.

"It's not what you're thinking!" Your voice shrieked back, face flushing an awful shade of rose. Annie had a terrible smile on her lips, like she was calculating just how badly she wanted to scream at you for what she hypothesized earlier turning out to be correct.

"Oh, it's not?" She rested a hand on her hip as she popped it out to the side, hand still gripping the hanger tightly. "Because it looks a lot like what I'm thinking." You squinted at her hard then, trying to see her reaction and shit-eating grin more clearly.

"Annie I swear to-"

"Oh lover boy!" She yelled, running to the blinds to open them, letting the light of a new day shine down on you both from your bed. You would've thrown yourself after her if you weren't just waking up from probably the best sleep of your life.

She must've gotten just loud enough because Jake began to stir from beside you, groaning at all the ruckus you and your roommate were causing while he was just trying to get some beauty sleep. Jake's face turned into the pillow to nuzzle deeper and go back to sleep but Annie wasn't having any of it, she started slowly clapping. If your glare was anything to go by, it was surely enough to provoke immediate fear into the hearts of anyone... well anyone besides Annie.

"Could you leave us alone and not cause a scene for me for once in your life?" You hissed out to her. Annie stuck her tongue out at you, clearly enjoying the utter chaos she was creating. You loved her, you did, but sometimes she was the epitome of: doesn't know when to give god's graces a break.

"What... is... going... on?" Jake groaned into the pillow, now laying flat on his stomach. You gave his back a gentle pat, praying for Annie to leave the two of you alone any minute now that she had clearly seen enough.
