Since the fortunate meeting of the other two Kiszkas and Danny, you started to see them around a lot more. You and Jake would go out to lunch on occasion and Josh would join you both, or you would drop off some coffee for Jake at his rehearsals and Sammy and Danny would invite you to stay and listen for input. It was starting to feel like you were a part of their little circle, which was fine.

You had never really had a group of friends outside Annie's before, and although you loved her dearly, sometimes you didn't exactly fit-in with them. It was the sort of situation where you would never ask them to do anything unless Annie was with you... was that kinda sad? You hoped not.

But things were turning in a different direction now. Ever since you visited that concert the one night somehow you had ended up with the rest of the boy's numbers. Well, Jake explained to you that he had given your number to Josh and from that hierarchical diffusion it ended up in Sam and Danny's phones too. You wanted to say you didn't really mind but, well, Josh had a habit of texting you long paragraphs randomly and on odd occasions, and Sammy had a habit of sending awful memes that had you laughing and not just blowing air from your nose every time you opened your phone.

You newfound friendship with the boys was something peculiar in itself, because you had never really had anyone besides Annie and-

You hated to think of Benny. The time that you two had shared together would probably be engraved into your brain for a long time, but you needed to move past it. Even when you and Benny were engaged your relationship was anything but friendly sometimes. You didn't want parts of your past to come up, you wanted to keep it there- in the past where it belonged.

Or you really hoped it would stay there.

"Okay be honest, are those glasses actually real?" It was Sammy who asked the question- directed right at you. He and his awful habit to spew whatever came out of his mouth immediately after he thought about it. Josh was the same way, but at least Josh had manners about it, Sammy seemed to have yet to figure out exactly what was polite and what wasn't.

It was okay though, you figured he didn't mean anything harsh by it. Sammy was probably just, well, assuming he could ask you anything because you two were friends now. You were friends with all of them, hopefully something more with Jake, but he'd yet to ask and the game was becoming frustrating.

Your eyes wandered up from the pages of your book to direct at Sam now, squinting to consider his question. Currently you and the boys were lounging around the living room of your apartment, they had canceled their weekly practice in favor of resting up and lounging with you. It wasn't that you minded, but it was originally supposed to be just Jake. Apparently he had mentioned to them heading over to your place after practice and instead of asking if they could come they all just showed up instead.

To say you were surprised to find the four of them outside your door at noon on a Friday would be an understatement, but you figured you shouldn't expect to be surprised anymore- you should go with it.

So you'd let them in and ushered them inside, all of them making a place at home in your living room and now here you all were. Sam had Danny had made themselves comfortable on the rug in front of the tv, Josh on the estranged recliner besides the actual worn-down couch you and Jake were occupying.

Your legs were comfortably strewn across Jake's lap, the book forgotten in your lap. Somehow the boys had grown tired of the movie Josh had put on and Sam made it apparent to interrupt the lazy afternoon to ask you rather bluntly about your... glasses?

"Well Sammy," you pushed up the thick lenses, "They are real and believe it or not- I can't see without them." You replied, your tone dripping with a playful sarcasm. Sammy scrunched his nose and laughed, satisfied with that answer.
