I knew Mirabel was lying about not seeing the letter earlier she seemed to have this tendency to yell Nope and walk away. Also her expression screamed 'I HAVE BIG SECRETS!' But I had a feeling she already knew that. The next thing I noticed was the genuine shock on her face. {Did I scare her that bad?}

"Oh sorry I didn't realize how bad I scared you!" She seemed to shake slightly, and the shock on her face disappeared.

"It's ok sorry about.. well.. ignoring you I wasn't trying to make it seem like that!"

"It's okay, but I am interested in something else at the moment."

I look at Mirabel's bag and saw a letter sticking out from it. "I have a feeling the belongs to me." She made a soured expression at the letter. {What's so bad about it? Is it from my parents and she worried about me leaving? No, wars don't last only three months.} it had been 5 weeks since my last letter from my parents. They told me they could come in 2 months to visit for a week. Sometimes I worried on what they would think of my crush on Mirabel. However none of that was important right now because I want my letter back. After what happened with Dolores I was a bit tense when people got near my private stuff.

"I don't wanna give it to you because your Mine-....." she cut herself off a bit to late because now we were both red "UHH I MEAN CUZ YOUR MA BESTIE AND UHHH... uhh..."
She just stood there scowling at the ground.

After a long moment her expression softened, and she even gave me a small victorious grin like she had just won the world's biggest argument ever.

"You know what?"
"Uh what?"
"You are mine."

{HUH?!? WAIT... WHY SHE WALKING TOWARDS ME?!?}

-Mirabel-
As I walked towards Y/n I whispered in their ear, " I said you are mine."

(Duh Y/n wat else would she say🤨🙄😒)

I walked over and wrapped my arms around them and pulled them into me their face flushed a whole new shade of red. I put my head in the crease of their neck and bit lightly. Y/n gasped when I went to bite again I was interrupted by the door flinging open.
Y/n hadn't seemed to notice but they were still tense. In the doorway stood a guy with dark hair and streaks of dirty blonde he looked as if he was going to say something but had a shocked look on his face. After he took in what was going on he gave Mirabel a nasty glare and made one of those 'I'm going to kill you' gestures

"Am I interrupting something?" His voice seemed to be louder than pots and pans being slammed. Y/n immediately flinched hard and pushed away.

"Hi um.. we were just hugging and ya know that's what besties do!"
"You guys must be real close huh?"
"I mean... wait who are you?"
"Yeah who are you?"
"My name is Luke I am Mariano's younger brother."
"Well why are you here?" I asked rather harshly Y/n glanced at me giving me a look that seemed to beg me to be nice.
"Well today is your cousin's birthday isn't it? We were invited because of Mariano's and Dolores's relationship."
"Today?! I better go get ready Ill see you later Mirabel!"

Y/n rushed out of my room most likely getting the rabbit ready for the party, leaving me and Luke alone. He turned towards me with an annoyed face.
"So, do you and Y/n know each other well?"
"Mhm, we're best friends."
"Ahh yes, I forgot friends casually bite on the neck."
"So what if we're more than friends? Not like it affects your life."
"Actually it does. Y/n is so perfect they deserve only the best. I myself am quite perfect too so I deserve the best."
"Wait so you think because your self absorbed. Y/n should be with you and not me?"

He let out an offended scoff, and stuck his nose in the air.
"What I am trying to say is you don't deserve Y/n. I do"

-Y/n-
I was feeding Antonio's rabbit when Camilo walked in.
"Hey Y/n!"
"Hey Camilo what's up?"
"Just checking in. Is that your present for Antonio?"
"Mhm!"
He walked over and pulled out a letter
"It's from your parents."
"Really? Thank you!"
"No problem I'll catch you later!"
Camilo walked off but before he left my doorway he turned into Mirabel and blew a kiss at me. I rolled my eyes at him when he giggled from my face flushing.
{Speaking of letters!} I had pickpocketed Mirabel and took the letter while she... {What would've happened if Luke hadn't walked in?} I shook the thought out of my mind and opened my parents letter.

Dear Y/n

It's been hard not seeing you for so long, but our visit is coming up and both me and your father are very grateful to see you soon. Overall war work has been excruciatingly boring don't worry too much about your father he's alive and well. Soon we will all be united and you can tell me all about what you've been up to.

{Aww well I'm glad to hear they're okay. Now what about that letter I took back from Mirabel?}

I opened the letter and read realizing why Mirabel didn't want me to see it. {I have a secret admirer!} I started to think about who it could be. My mind was deep in thoughts that I hadn't heard the person at my door talking to me.
"Y/n? Y/n. Y/n! Y/N!"
"Huh oh sorry.."
"It's fine but cmon! The party is going to start soon!" It was Dolores every time I saw her it was awkward due to our fight that wasn't even a week ago.
"Also, you might wanna keep an eye on Luke so far he is definitely not much of a charmer."
"Luke? Wh-"
She walked off before I could say anything else. {What did she mean by that?}
