Necromancy
The world's most devious necromancers
are Dreams,
their deft, artful hands
resurrect the deceased,
but for a heavy price,
they rattle the dead from their slumber,
wind them up and let them
parade through minds
until momentum ceases
and they stiffen, rust before
their dreamers,
infecting them with a madness
that grinds bone to dust,
transforms food to soot,
drains color from life.
