                              The moment
                              I was offered
                              the crystal ball job
                              he had originally encouraged me
                              to reach for
in a land too far of a distance
                              for a heart to trek,
I knew that when I signed
                              the contract
                              I would seal
                              our fate,
                              close our chapter,

                              throughout the interviewing process
my heart had paced back and forth,
                              stuttered and stumbled,
but when the contract appeared in my email
                              I didn't flinch,
                              steady and resolute
                              I entered my signature,
                              erased his.

Paint Us Gray: Part 2
Poetry(This is part 2; please read part 1 first!) Rejection. Betrayal. Heartbreak. Grief. Unfortunately, we've all had a swallow, some more than others, of this bitter brew. This is just a sliver of my chapter that is a part of this world's grand nar...
