Malak knew what he needed to do; however, the thought of leaving his mate again, especially during a battle, didn't seem right.nHe was going to leave after; though, his mate didn't need to know that since his loving demon would stop him. But before he leaves, he wanted to do something special for his mate.

Summoning his power was getting easier for the angel. He had done it so many times before, it was almost instinctual now. His eyes glowed as the power rushed through him. The nephilim gasped in shock, quickly getting off the angel. Malak was glad since he disliked anyone touching him who wasn't Zion. Anyone else's touches always seem to burn, reminding him of his horrible past. Though Ellette's didn't. Not like others. He trusted the fae and as long as she didn't touch him for too long, he didn't mind.

Using the sharpness of his eyes, Malak flew slightly above the sinking boat in order to find his mate. He spotted his demon, who looked unharmed but frantic. Focusing on the demon's emotions through the bond, he realized that Zion was just looking for him.

The angel landed right next to his mate, who immediately pulled him into a tight, protective hug. "I'm glad you're okay, Malak," he muttered into the angel's neck.

"I am fine," he bluntly stated, though Zion could feel the love his angel had for him through the bond. "Are you okay?"

The demon released the angel so he could look at him. With a firm nod, he mentioned that the leviathan just stared at him and moved on. The angel looked around and realized that the leviathan had only attacked the few humans left on board. His stomach clenched at the sight of the bodies. Even if humans were slightly scary and sinful creatures, there was no reason for them all to die.

"We must stop–"

A loud scream interrupted Malak, catching the attention of the trio. Ellette, who was close to Zion yet went unnoticed by the worried angel, was the first to act. She ran towards the scream. Her eyes went wide as she saw Alexander, trying to get away from the leviathan. Due to his personality, she assumed he hadn't committed any sins. For God's sake, Zion didn't even get attacked by the sea demon and he was a demon!

Malak saw the scene, and regrettable, part of him wanted to do nothing. He wanted to let the beast finish Alexander off. But he knew it wouldn't get rid of the suspicious nephilim. Somehow he knew that Alexander would come back. There was some unknown powerful aura to him.

The angel sighed before telepathically telling his mate what to do. Together they summoned their powers. The energy created a windstorm throughout the boat, but they paid no attention to it. The sea serpent looked at them, dropping the nephilim. The light from the mates drew the beast in like an insect.

Zion was struggling to keep up with his mate's powers as the serpent came closer. Admittedly, he still didn't know how to use them properly. Malak seemed so calm and powerful. While he needed to be angry, and even then, the power seemed to have a mind of its own sometimes. Still, he held onto the power, forcefully bringing it forth from within his soul.

The crazier the winds got, the brighter the mates glowed.

The serpent was within the light's grasp. The golden rays bounced off its black scales. "Now," Malak ordered through their mind link. Both of them fell to the ground in exhaustion as they let go of their powers. The energy was directly aimed at the serpent, knocking it right in its head. A groan left its lips as it sank back down, releasing the boat back above water. No one knew if it was dead, but they weren't waiting to find out.

Malak and Zion woke from their nap around the same time. Somehow the mates were back in their room. Zion quickly looked at the clock, realizing there should only be a couple of hours left in their trip. The fight hadn't lasted too long. No more than a half-hour. So, unless there was something wrong with the boat, they should be in Mexico soon.

Zion gently kissed his angel's lips as he started to wake up. His action caused the angel to smile gently at him. The angel wasn't sure how to be romantic or anything to do with a relationship. But with Zion, everything felt natural. He just needed to trust what his instincts – and his you know what – was telling him. Now, was the time to tell him.

"I want you to mark me."

Zion wasn't prepared for that to come out of his innocent angel's mouth.

Fighting his urge to jump up fast and take his mate, he needed to make sure his angel knew what he was saying. So, he slowly sat with his mate in his lap. "Angel, do you know what that means?" He inquired. Personally, Zion had no issues with marking him. He wanted to for a while; however, he didn't want to take advantage of his angel's innocence.

The angel shook his head, looking his demon in the eyes. He wanted him to know how serious he was, even if it meant not being able to hide his blush. "Yes, Ellette told me that we needed to have the sex," he bluntly said.

"We do..." Zion trailed off. "But do you know what sex is?"

"Yes, it's when you take your boy bits and put them in my butt. Though, I'm not really sure how you're supposed to fit them in there. Ellette said–"

Zion put his hand over the angel's mouth, stopping him from saying anything else embarrassing. The demon was blushing and was thankful for his darker skin tone, so his angel wouldn't see.

"I know about that... stuff. But are you sure, Malak? I don't want to do anything unless you are completely sure."

The angel shook his head once more. Ellette told him everything she knew, which surprisingly was a lot. He wanted to do this with Zion. He needed to before he goes to Hell.
