Witnesses

3rd POV

The different vampire clans from all over the world gathered at the Cullens home. Each of them were won over by Cynthia, Eira, and Seren. Each was made to see the truth about the girls. Carlisle convinced his each of his old friends to make the journey to Forks.

Although the Cullens and the wolves were grateful for their help, their thirst for human blood complicated the situation. The nomads Rosalie and Emmett sent were even more unpredictable. Especially Peter who had fought alongside Jasper as a newborn in Maria's army.

Cynthia developed an attachment to Peter and Charlotte as they reminded her greatly of her parents who were on a secret mission elsewhere.

Seren developed tight friendship bonds with Benjamin from the Egyptian coven who had a gift similar to hers. His ability to control the elements primarily earth made him in tune with nature as well. Her second friend, much to everyone's surprise, was Alister. A tracker vampire with a deep fondness of birds, mainly falcons.

Seren always took advantage of his secret delight and would summon birds whenever she was in his presence, just to bring a smile to his old face.

Eira much to everyone's shock discovered that she had a mating bond with Tanya. Tanya and Leah had a silent agreement to remain peaceful for her sake. As for friends she adored Kate and Garret who were mates. Both of them reminded her of her parents.

As more vampires set foot in their territory, more Quileutes turned. Their nature compelling them to join the pack. Finally, Carlisle and Esme returned with the last witness.

"How many came?" Carlisle asked "Eighteen. You have some good friends" Tanya answered with Eira in her arms "And Alice?" Esme asks hopefully Rosalie sighs and shakes her head sadly. Carlisle hugs his wife for comfort.

Zafrina was demonstrating her gift to Edward and Bella at Bella's request, more like demand.  Zafrina had power over the mind. She could make anyone see what she wanted them to. Bella watched as Zafrina made Edward see something in the forest.

"If she weren't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real" Edward said amazed "I don't see anything" Bella said confused. Eleazar, Carmen, and Kate suddenly appeared "Edward, you didn't tell me your wife is a shield" Eleazar said mildly surprised.

"What's a shield?" Bella asked dumbly, Edward suddenly understands and smiles at his wife "The ones I've met are so different. I knew that you were special, my Bella" Eleazar explained "It's a defensive talent. Yours is mental, and rather minor, incredibly flexible as well."

Edward explained further "It's why I couldn't read your mind, even before. It's why Aro couldn't" Elezar added "You have a very rare gift even if it's weaker than most who have it" Suddenly Kate takes Bella's hand and uses her gift "Oh, yeah, she's a shield, all right. Shoulda put her on her ass!" Kate said blandly.

"Or your voltage has been exaggerated" Garret taunted, Kate turned to face him "Maybe it only works on the weak" Kate puts her hand up, daring Garrett to try and touch her. Garret boldly and stupidly reaches out for her "Garrett, I wouldn't" Carlisle warned. Garrett touches his finger to Kate's hand anyway and he's instantly electrocuted and falls to the ground.

"You are an amazing woman" Garret said looking up at her and smirking.

Meanwhile Jacob is teaching some young new Quileutes how to control themselves when they turn into wolves. "Now, you guys can do some serious damage. Which is why you'll need to control your phasing. If your mom pisses you off, you don't want to tear her head off" Jacob explained before he suddenly stops as he hears something in the woods.

"Whoever's coming wasn't invited!" Jacob snarls before he  turns into a wolf and runs into the forest with the young wolves following him, they catch up and chase after two vampires who jump up some trees and then jump down and sit on some rocks mocking the wolves when Carlisle and the other vampire find them.

"Vladimir, Stefan, you're a long way from home" Carlisle greets them "What are they doing here?"Kate hisses. "We heard the Volturi were moving against you, but that you would not stand alone" Vladimir explained "We didn't do what we were accused of" Carlisle defended himself and his family.

"We do not care what you did, Carlisle" Vladimir rolled his eyes "We have been waiting a millennium for the ltalian scum to be challenged" Stefan grinned wickedly "It's not our plan to fight the Volturi" Carlisle said cautiously "Shame. Aro's witnesses will be so disappointed" Vladimir commented tauntingly "They enjoy a good fight" Stefan agreed.

"Aro's witnesses?" Eleazar asked cautiously "Aww, still hoping they'll listen?" Vladimir teased.

Everyone at the Cullen residence is discussing the new information that Vladimir and Stefan have shared. Though Carlisle and Eleazar have a hard time seeing their ex coven in that light.

Granted they never experienced the Volturi's wrath and vengeful justice firsthand like the Romanians have.

Amun suddenly stood up "Benjamin, Tia, we're leaving!" Emmett stops them "And where will you go? If the Romanians claims are true what makes you think they'll be satisfied with Alice? What's to stop them from going after Benjamin next? Or Zafrina or Kate or anyone else with a gift? Anyone they want. Carlisle might not ask you to fight, but I will. Not just for the sake of my family, but also for yours, and for the way you want to live!"

There's a moment of silence as the vampires look at each other, then Jacob stands "The packs will fight. We've never been afraid of vampires" The Delani's stand as well "We will fight" Tanya answers, ready to protect her mate and her family.

Garrett stands "This won't be the first time I fought a king's rule" Benjamin stands "We'll join you" "No!" Amun protests, and Benjamin turns to him "I will do the right thing, Amun. You may do as you please!" Senna and Zafrina stand "We will stand with you" Siobhan and her coven stand as well "So will we."

The other vampire start to step forward to offer their support. "That didn't take much" Vladimir commented "Let's hope it doesn't come to that" Carlisle adds, Alistair scoffs "We'll see."

Everyone showed courage, and support. Though they knew that Aro's army was moving against them. Soon they would face the dark gifts of Jane, and even worse, the paralyzing vapor of her brother Alec, or would they?
