It has been 10 years and we still haven't found my baby girl.
"Hey Baby" I heard Dom's voice and felt his arms wrap around my waist. I leaned to my right to give him more access to my bare neck.
"Hey, how's everything going?" I asked him, enjoying his lips sucking on my neck.
"Everything is all done and ready and the hall is filling up with our family and friends." He replied.
"Today marks the 10th anniversary of..." i choked back a sop.
Dom tightened his arms, holding me closer to him.
"I know baby, and one day she will be back in our arms." He added. I just nod in response. I turn around in his arms and wrapped my arms around his neck to stare straight into his teary eyes.
"How are you holding up?" I asked him.
Dom tightened his arms around me and swayed us both side to side. He let out a long sigh. "Fine, i guess." He unwrapped his arms and went to sit on the couch and massaged his temples. I went over, removed his hands and replaced it with my own.
I massaged his temple whilst we stared at each other. After a few minutes, Dom buried his face in my chest and just cried. My husban, the man who held us all together even in dangerous situation is crying. My emotional ass cried along with him too.
"10 fucking years! 10 fucking years and nothing! Fucking nothing. Those fucking CIA doesn't even know where and how those fuckers escaped with my FUCKING BABY GIRL! They're American CIA and you'd THINK they know everything. I tried everything. All my allies in the world, they turned up nothing."
"I mean, we did received news from Australia remember? How they mistook this old couple's granddaughter because she l-looked similar to m-my missing baby?" I reminiscence that hopeful day.
10 years earlier.
Chaos all around me. My arms wrapped around my baby girl while my husband and the rest of the family connects with allies and officials to find my other baby. My little Silvia.
"Honey, they will find her." My mama-in-law said. I looked up at her frail figure laying on the bed. I chuckled, "frail my ass" i muttered under my breath as i went back to watch my baby girl drinking her milk. I was so emotionally upset that i couldn't breastfeed my own baby, but what else can i do, my breasts couldn't produce enough milk, so my baby girl is on the bottle.
"I have the will to live for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, darling! That is why i am not frail at my age, especially in this family." "That's because you're only in your 50's." I retorted.
We both laughed. Maybe it's our way of coping with the situation, i don't know, but it's a good feeling.
"Besides, i've been shot many times, this one is just a graze." She concluded. I gave my mama-in-law a look.
"No really, it's just a graze. Look?" She lifted her gown up. And sure enough, there's a small graze with stitches.
"You call that a graze? It's been stitched up, that's not small if it has stitches." I responded.
She let out a laugh, "Darling, i'm old! My young and tight skin has losened over the years. I needed those stitches or else, i'd be left with a gabing wound. My dear old husband will have a field day, if it isn't treated."
I smiled remembering the last time that happened.
"Also, how's my grandson?" She asked.
