MINHO LOOKED INSIDE THE PIT to see the two other Runners soundlessly asleep, atop each other. He grinned as he watched Thomas snuggle closer into the girls hair, a sigh of contentment escaping her lips.
They must've unconsciously nestled up to each other during the night to keep warm. It was an unusual sight to see them so close, neither trying to slit the others throat.
He hated to break up the moment, but they desperately needed to leave. "Big day Greenie!" He spoke loudly sending the two jolting awake.
Both Thomas and Andie instantly noticed their close proximities, pushing away from each other and rolling their eyes while Minho snickered.
"Are you sure you I don't want to sit this one out?" He directed his attention at Thomas.
Composing himself, Thomas shook his head. "Come on man, get me out of here."
With another chuckle, Minho opened the pit door, Thomas pushing himself out while the other boy extended a hand for the girl.
She reluctantly grabbed it and allowed him to help her out—brushing herself off—but when she saw the tug in the corner of his lip, she held up a hand to his face, shaking her head. "Don't."
The boy put his hands up in surrender as they jogged towards the Runner's shed, needing their running gear before they left.
As they did so, Minho glanced down at the girl's knee, seeing that's she was clearly favoring her other foot, putting less pressure on her injury. It made him halt in place, stopping the girl along with him.
She sent him a confused look, Thomas looking the same as he too stopped. "We'll be right there, Thomas. You go ahead." He waved the boy off.
