A Boy's POV

His not entirely sure what happened.

One moment he was cooking dinner for his mother and father, like he does every night, the next hour he was here. Wherever here is. It's somewhere he doesn't know the rules. Somewhere he doesn't know what will be considered 'good behaviour'. Somewhere he has no idea what to do.

The person who came in Purple made sense, they seemed comforting, they made him relaxed, made him able to breath. And gave him something that is apparently called a hug. He had liked that, he liked it a lot. And he already misses the warmth from when the purple person wrapped their arms around him.

He tried not to let water leak out his eyes, he tried so hard, he knows that it is against the rules, and he tried to stop, tried so hard. But he got purple's shoulder wet, he just didn't understand what a hug was, the only contact he had before was hard, painful. Yet they just let him cry, their arms tight, and he realised quickly how much he likes it, so despite the fact that he knew it was wrong he stayed for as long as he could. He stayed so long that he fell asleep in her arms. That was the first time an adult has held him, first time anyone had held him.

Not that he knew it, but it was the feeling of safety that let him fall asleep in their arms, he fell asleep to the feeling of lips pressing on his forehead, another feeling his never felt before, a kiss. And words, words that made no sense said in a soft voice drifting over his head.

"This is Volto. Beta test two is a success, though not provided with full information, he was correctly identified!"

Now his here, where he doesn't know the rules, where the normal rules don't seem to apply. And he doesn't understand. He doesn't know what will be wrong, what will make people shout at him, or hit him. One of the girls looked straight at him, when he arrived, she sent him a smile and now she won't leave him alone. At all.

She doesn't talk, but that's alright, because he doesn't like talking that much either. She shows him who is the best adults are, despite the fact she is at least three or four years younger than his ten. She also notices things he completely misses, she can read people, he in turn learns to read her. If she is wary of a person, then he doesn't let them near her, if she's uncomfortable than his uncomfortable.

Before anyone knows it, they are inseparable, she is his little sister, and no one can tell him otherwise. Even if it's not by blood. To him this means more. The staff in the hospital don't quite understand, apparently the girl hadn't interacted with any of the other children until now. Apparently, she, until him, refused to do any kind of communication with anyone other than a man that introduces himself as:

"Dr. Roberts." And even that was only to occasionally half smile at him. Most of the staff seem to have mixed opinions of whether they should be encouraging the relationship or not, some even try to 'gently' nudge them back to the other children that are their own age group. He just scowls at them; she clings to him and refuses to let go. Even bringing out tears if they attempt to separate the two of them. When the 'Dr. Roberts' finds out about the attempts at separation the boy can see the barely contained anger at the idiot staff members around them.
