TW - Description of broken bones and shooting.
(Bucky POV)
The whole team heard from Natasha's distress call that we found Ana, but she needed immediate medical attention. It was a long hour before we made it to the towers helipad. Sam tried to get me to rest. I didn't listen. I got my girl back and I wasn't going to let her go again.
I spent the time wiping the sweat from her forehead. She was moving around in her sleep. I could tell it was nightmares. I tried talking to her so she knew I was here, hoping that would help calm her but it didn't. Whatever they did to her in there messed her up. I tried so hard not to blame myself. I couldn't help it. She was in this mess because of me.
"Doctor Cho will let us know if she did lose the babies. Don't worry for now man." Sam tried to calm me down. I didn't want to listen to him. Every time he spoke it was a reminder of how I failed her. How I failed Steve.
"Five minutes" Natasha yelled back to us. My heart raced at the thought of Steve seeing her like this, learning about his babies...
"Bucky, don't worry, nobody will blame you for what they did to her. You saved her." Clint walked back to sit next to me. He wouldn't look at me. We both just watched her writhe silently, almost in pain. I lifted the blanket to look at her abdomen to see blood beginning to stain her white nightgown. I gently placed the blanket down grabbing her hand and kissing it. She was still cold, but now she was shaking. If we don't get her in with Doctor Cho soon she could die.
"Is she still bleeding?" Sam asked concerned. His mind was somewhere else most of the trip but I didn't have the energy to find out why. I don't answer, my mind too worried about Ana.
"Landing in 3...2....1" Once the jet shakes when it touches ground I push Ana in her cot out the hatch.
Waiting for us were Tony, Bruce, and Doctor Cho.
"Status?" Doctor Cho asked while attaching gadgets onto Ana's arms.
"She had some kind of surgery, her abdomen is bleeding and they may have done experiments on her. She's very cold it's not normal for her, her temp is usually 104..."
"I know I read her chart. We have her from here Sergeant." Tony stands in my way holding a hand to my chest so I don't follow. I was too weak and worried to fight him. She needed the doctors not me.
"She'll be okay Barnes. Let them work." For the first time since I met Tony he was being kind to me. I could see he had been crying, probably happy we found her. I nod and step back understanding he was in the same place I was. He had loved Ana as a daughter. "Go wash up Barnes" I looked down to my hands noticing blood on them. Was it blood from the enemies or was it from Ana? Suddenly the thought that I was covered in her blood hit me like a truck making my heart drop to my feet. I nod walking around him to go inside.
"Tony, we need a meeting immediately...." Sam's voice slowly disappears as I walk away from them. Dazed, I take the elevator ignoring everyone's questions. I walk to my room and go to the bathroom. I stay under the water for longer than I expected. Letting the water wash away all my fears and worries with her blood.
"Bucky" Steve's voice sounded muffled from the other room, yet I could still hear the pain he was in.
"One sec." I hoped he wouldn't come to me first. I didn't want to be the one to tell him his kids may be dead. I reluctantly got dressed, walking out rubbing the towel on my hair. "She's in the medical wing Steve." I say looking down and away from him. I felt ashamed of myself for letting all of this happen and still be in love with the mother of his kids...well...
