Bakugo was the only one who stayed behind and waited for (Y/N) to be released. Midoriya would've stayed but Bakugo had forced him to leave while every one else left because they didn't want to get in trouble with their families.
Meanwhile, (Y/N) was asked questions about her experience. The officers hoped her answers could lead them to capture the villains, but she couldn't give any valuable information. They treated her wounds and gave her some clean clothes to change into. After being released from police custody, (Y/N) walked out of the station and noticed Bakugo sitting on the steps, phone in his hand, simply unbothered by what was around him.
"Kat?" (Y/N) called out. "What're you looking at?"
Startled, Bakugo hastily shut off his phone and jumped up from where he was sitting. "I was just texting my mom."
(Y/N) felt like something was off. Bakugo never referred to his mother as 'mom'. He only ever called her an 'old hag'. (Y/N) knew he was trying to hide something but decided not to push on the matter. Instead, she decided to say the following.
"How about we head home?" Bakugo agreed and made their way to the metro in silence.
While usually (Y/N) wouldn't mind silence, this silence felt awkward and made her uncomfortable. She wanted to speak up but was unsure of what to say. She had no idea why Bakugo was acting standoffish. Thinking it had to do with their argument a few hours back, she finally spoke up.
"I'm sorry, Katsuki. I know I shouldn't have shouted at you for rescuing me. I just... I don't know what I would've done if any of you had gotten hurt in the process."
"It's fine, dumbass. I get it," was all Bakugo said. (Y/N) couldn't quite figure out why Bakugo seemed so cold. It had seemed like they were fine when the police had taken her in for questioning, but things felt much different at the moment.
"Katsuki, what's bothering you?" She asked, hoping to resolve any underlying issue. "Nothing." By now, they were off of the train and making their way home from the station.
"It sure doesn't seem like nothing. You're not usually like this."
"Like what?"
"Don't play dumb with me. We've known each other since we were in diapers. You've never been so distant before." Bakugo clicked his tongue, "Oh, so it's fine when you ignore me for something I didn't even realize I did, but I can't do the same?"
"Okay... but, what did I do?" (Y/N) was puzzled. She couldn't figure out what made Bakugo act this way. She received no reply from the ash blond as he pulled out his keys, and began to unlock the door to their home. Before he could fully unlock the door, it swung open to reveal Bakugo's parents.
"(Y/N)!" Mitsuki sobbed as she pulled the girl into a hug. "I was so scared you wouldn't come back." Reassuring her with a hug, (Y/N) replied, "I'm ok. I'm just happy to be back home."
As the two let go, (Y/N) picked up on the subtle glare Bakugo was giving her. Feeling even more concerned by the second, (Y/N) wanted to call him out on his recent behavior, but Bakugo spoke up first.
"Oi, (Y/N) should go to her room, and rest. She's been through a lot," he said it calmly, but their was an edge to his voice, something (Y/N) couldn't help but overthink about. Bakugo's parents nodded, saying something about making dinner before rushing off to the kitchen.
Walking toward her bedroom, (Y/N) felt Bakugo follow close behind. A little too close for comfort. As she entered her room, she couldn't help but try and rush to close the door, but a hand stopped it from closing completely. Realizing it was Bakugo, (Y/N) felt a chill run down her spine as he opened and closed the door behind him
