The night time was a wonderful time to be outside. Katherine Pierce enjoyed spending her time at night by going to dance clubs or finding victims. Tonight she chose dance club.

"Who is that girl, she looks real beauty in those black dress?" Two men were whispering about her. She could hear it. They don't know that people would have to mind their tongue and actions when they are around her. Katherine smiled to herself. She liked flirting and making out with men, to ultimately feed from them.

She was standing at the center of the club and all the lights fell on her. She moved to a corner. She knew what the men where going to do. She waited.

As predicted those two men came to her. "Hey beauty, what is your name? Care to join us for a drink at our place." She smiled and said, "I would but I am always thirsty, you can't keep me satisfied. So I am going to stay here."

"Actually we could satisfy you. Just come with us." By saying this one of the men slid his arm on to the backside opening of her dress.

"I think she told you that she was going to stay." The voice belonged to a third male. He was tall with a heavy built body. "Hey, no problems now. We were just fooling around." The two men left leaving Katherine and the newly arrived man alone.

When he was sure they left, the tall man smiled at Katherine and began to walk away from her to the outside door. "Hey, you didn't tell me your name, handsome." "It's Jake Stribs." "Wow, Jake. It's really nice to meet you here. So what do you do Jake?" "I am at college now." "Oh a college. You are way younger than I thought."

"Listen, I have to go back now. You are so wasted, I don't think you should go alone." Jake's blue eyes looked at Katherine Pierce with a concern that she never felt in centuries. "I have always been alone. I can handle myself." She started walking towards her house, that is, the house of someone she compelled.

When she turned a corner, she could feel someone following her. She stopped and turned back, "Did you think that little kid from the club was going to save you. Now come with us before we drag you out of here." One of the men looked at her with an expression filled with lust and anger.

"Actually, she is coming with me." Jake's voice came from behind the men. "You are never going to stop, are you? But I think after killing you, we could take her." They laughed. Katherine too laughed inside.

"I don't think so. She came to a dance club to dance. It doesn't give you permission to take her without her consent." "What are you, a school kid or a college one? If you are so intent on dying, who am I to judge?" By saying this, he pulled out his gun and fired on Jake's stomach. He fell down on the floor with blood oozing out of his stomach. Katherine's heart skipped a beat.

"Now to you. Come with us. Take her." The man who shot the gun commanded his partner. "I just wanted a dance night. Tonight, I thought about not feeding. But you won't allow me. Say goodbye to yourself. Cause standing before you is the devil herself, Katherine Pierce." Katherine's cold voice frightened them.

The last thing both the men remembered was being attacked by the girl. They couldn't even utter a single word. Soon they fell dead.

Jake had seen the bloodshed, but he felt his body draining out of his power. He was soon going to die. Even if the girl wanted to kill him, he was in no position to defeat her.

After killing them, she came to Jake and knelt down beside him. "What are you?" The question she heard a million times. "Just drink my blood." He obeyed and then she looked him in the eyes. "Never try to save me again. You are going to forget this night and me." He blinked and she disappeared.

When Jake fought for her, she felt she had someone to care about her. It was for just a second, but she still had the thought. The emotions that she entombed years back came to the surface. She don't want to become the old miserable Katerina Petrova again. She liked power, the one she enjoys without any commitments.

But she still thought about Jake and the hope for humanity. "I erased my memory from him, to make him stay away. If I feel that was inadequate, I am going to kill him."
