"Where are you going Jake?" It was his mother asking that question. "To college mum." "We need to talk."

Jake had been raised by his mother since he was 4. His father's sudden death made them suffer in a lot of ways, but his mother's hard work and determination made sure that Jake had a good life. Now they were indeed living the best life.

"I am running late. Can it wait?" "No Jake, it is urgent." The sternness in his mother's sound astonished him. 𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑚, 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑏𝑒 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑡. "Ok mum, what is it?"

Katherine Pierce was sitting on a bench at the park waiting for Jake to arrive. They had been seeing each other for the past few weeks. She never told him about her life before becoming a vampire, but she indeed told him about the things after that. "See, I burned down a whole village because they threatened to stake me." She would tell him about all the cruel acts she committed. In her mind she wanted him to stay away from her, to be afraid of her. But he would look into her eyes and say,"It's fine Katherine. Everyone have a bad side." "Do you have any?" She would ask him and he smiles.

Even today she came there just to be with him, but she never accepts that. Whenever Jake tells her that she wishes to be with him as much as he wants to be with her, she would say, "Huh. Really you thought that is why I come to see you. You are a tiny little danger to me and I have to make sure that you don't go blabbering about me . Other than that I have no business being with you." The footsteps made her aware that Jake was coming. So she sat in a typical Katherine Pierce 'I don't give a damn look' waiting for Jake to approach her.

"What is it mum? You are actually wasting my time. I have to be somewhere now." There was restlessness in his tone. "Somewhere, huh, not to college, but to meet with a wicked vampire." "Wh-what how did you..." "I am your mother Jake. I know if my son gets himself in trouble. Your sudden interest in our family's journals and your relationship with that wretched Katherine Pierce, isn't that enough for me to understand all this." "How do you know about Katherine?"

"She is the reason our family was broken. Your father didn't die of an accident, he was killed by a vampire. No just any Vampire, but your new friend." Jake couldn't believe his ears. "She would have told me then. It may not be her." "Do you think that she remembers all the innocent people she killed. She is evil, Jake, let go of her. We are vampire hunters, just kill her. Bring justice to your father."

"Mum, not every vampires are evil." Jake's mother let out a sigh. "I know, when Katherine killed your father, both of us were also in the car. You saw what happened to him, she was going to kill me, when all of a sudden, a vampire appeared. By seeing him, she ran away. He saw you and the terror in your eyes, he compelled you to forget the incident. So yes, not all vampires are evil. When I saw Katherine Pierce with you, I called him and told him that she was in town, he would take care of her. You could lead a normal life." "No mum, what have you done. I love her. I am sorry but I have to go now."

"I have been waiting for so long. Don't make me wait on you." Katherine said in her cold voice. "I won't luv." A shiver ran down her spine, she turned, "Klaus." "Hello again, luv."
