"What?" James was the first to speak, almost laughing at the idea. "We've barely been here two weeks. Bloody hell Padfoot, I know you've been bored but this seems a little drastic"
"No!" Sirius said, frustration and panic mixing in his voice "Greyback is outside and we have to get out of here!"
At this the entire group went silent and Remus was the first to move. He headed to the tents entrance and peered through it. Much as he dreaded, Sirius was right.
"Okay..." James said, his mind going straight into leader mode.
"Peter, pack everything up. Grant put the map data into my bag, it has an extension charm. Remus apparate now, think of a clear field in Devonshire. just trust me. Think abut that point on the map I showed you the other day"
Remus decided all he could do right now was trust James but he looked straight at Sirius.
"Get out of this" he whispered quietly, his worry evident to Sirius.
"I'll meet you there" Sirius said with a reassuring nod and with that Remus apparated. He saw the usual blur of scenery and appeared to be in a large field on the edge of a forest. He looked around and it all seemed deserted. He frowned and looked at the sky, it being cloudier than before. It looked like it was going to rain and he shuddered as a harsh breeze hit him. What was going on? It had been sunny just moments before.
As he pondered the mysteries of the weather he heard a sound from beside him and there appeared Peter and James and after that, Sirius and Grant, all looking extremely flushed from all of the rushing around.
"That was way too close" James said breathlessly "I forgot that werewolves can smell out their kind. He would've known Remus was there and that we'd used enchantments and he would've called one of the death eaters in no time"
The 5 of them were all out of breath and soon Grant was looking at the sky too. "I've never seen weather change so quickly in my life. And it's England so that's a big statement"
The other 4 looked at the sky too and then to Remus' utter horror, the darkness in the trees seemed to move. Not only that but 4 cloaked figures emerged from the distance, floating across the sky and down towards them.
"James" Remus said breathlessly as he saw the creatures get closer "are those..."
"Dementors" Peter squeaked from next to him, shaking in terror at the sight of the hooded monsters.
They all wanted to run but a wave of cold dread had cast over all of them and they felt tense and still. Remus' mind was screaming at him to run away but he couldn't.
The creatures seemed to consider the 5 of them and 2 of them immediately went for Sirius who was knocked to the ground out of shock of their swift movements.
"No!" Remus yelled, rushing over but that's when the 3rd one latched itself onto him, it's horrid scabbed hands gripping his shoulders.
James was fumbling for his wand, remembering their classes on Patronus' but the 4th was already beginning to suck every piece of happiness from James who went limp and fainted, dropping his wand.
Grant rushed over to Remus, trying to help but he kept going dizzy whenever he tried.
"Peter!' Grant yelled in panic "What's happening?!"
Grant, as a muggle, couldn't see the dementors but he could definitely feel them and the more he got closer to Remus the worse he felt.
Peter was shaking life a leaf and cowering on the ground, his friends all on the brink of unconsciousness.
