No One's POV

Alycia walks downstairs to join the gathering and her eyes immediately catch Eliza's sparkling ones. The brunette makes her way towards the blonde with a smile on her face and greets Eliza with a welcoming hug.

"Wow, it's like we haven't seen each other at all these last few days," Eliza jokes earning an adorable giggle from Alycia which makes the blonde's heart swell.

"What can I say, I'm just irresistible," Alycia flips her hair over her shoulder with a bit of sass. "I'm not going to argue with that," Eliza tells her with a smirk on her face.

Alycia's heart melts but her mind goes to another certain blonde that she needed to talk to tonight. "30 minutes till midnight, till a new year, are you ready?" Eliza snaps her out.

"Is anyone truly ever ready?" Alycia jokes as she pours them both a drink and hands Eliza one. "I think the new year will be amazing. I have a few projects in queue and I'm excited to do them. How about you?"

"Same with me. I'm doing a lot more directing this year than I did last year and I swear I've fallen in love. I don't think I'll fully leave acting but to be able to direct and be part of the creative team is something I strive to do more moving forward," Eliza explains passionately winning Alycia's heart.

"I completely agree with that. I love acting and that's my main job and I won't ever leave it but being part of the creation of it all is pretty amazing. So I totally get that. I'm also directing more this year which is fantastic," Alycia lightly blushes at the attentive attention she was receiving from Eliza but before she can swim in the attention another certain blonde catches her attention.

"Hey, I'm just going to excuse myself. I have someone I have to talk to quickly, I'll be back," Eliza nods her head at Alycia's request before walking up to her other friends to talk and wait for the brunette.

Alycia leaves her half-empty glass on the counter before following the path that she saw Lizzie walk-in which leads her to the path towards the sunroom. Alycia was about to go around the corner when voices stopped her.

"Robbie, what's wrong?" Lizzie's alarmed voice rings through the room stopping Alycia from turning around the corner. Scarlett suddenly walks beside Alycia about to turn into the room until she was stopped by Alycia by grabbing her arm pulling the blonde beside her.

The brunette quickly puts her pointer finger on her lips telling Scarlett to be quiet before she says anything. The blonde's eyebrows furrow together in question before the voices started up again.

"Do you really want to marry me Elizabeth?" Robbie asks sounding desperate. "What do you mean? Of course, I want to marry you. I wouldn't have said yes if I didn't Robbie."

"Are you sure? Because I swear you cared about another person these last few days," Robbie presses.

"Who are you talking about?" confusion was evident in Lizzie's voice.

"Alycia." Robbie admits without missing a beat.

The brunette looks up at Scarlett in shock at hearing her name. "What about her?" they hear Lizzie ask.

"Oh come on, you've been practically chasing after her these last few days Lizzie. And you couldn't even keep your eyes away from her tonight," Robbie argues.

"You know that I haven't seen her in months. You know how weird it's been for Alycia and me since we saw each other again, we're just trying to salvage the friendship we once had Robbie. I'm worried about her and that's why I kept my eyes on her, that's all. Nothing more. Nothing special. Trust me." Unbeknownst to Lizzie, her words shot through Alycia's heart.

Scarlett grips Alycia's hand for support just like how she gripped it when Robbie proposed to the blonde.

"Trust me baby, Alycia's nothing but a friend. Nothing more. I don't even know if I can call her that anymore either," Scarlett sends a sorrowful look over to Alycia who swallows the lump in her throat. "You're my one and only and I can't wait to marry you."

Alycia blinks the tears away and tries to pry Scarlett's hand from her but the blonde doesn't budge. Scarlett pulls them away from the corner before talking barely above a whisper, "Hey, you're okay."

"Yeah I know, it's just," the brunette swallows, "I'm stupid to plan to tell her how I felt and I'm even more of an idiot to think that she could have possibly felt the same," Alycia chokes on her words as Scarlett rub her back.

"She sent you mixed feelings therefore you're not an idiot for thinking that maybe she reciprocates your feelings. What you're feelings are validated, don't invalidate it by calling yourself stupid because of it," Scarlett reassures her.

"I'm gonna go back out there. I'll talk to you tonight," Alycia says after clearing her throat and Scarlett reluctantly agree.

Turns out Alycia leaving was great timing as the couple rounds the corner coming face to face with Scarlett. "Oh, Scar," Robbie greets her and she bites her tongue from telling Robbie she isn't her friend to be calling her by her nickname.

"Yeah, Alycia and I were just going to tell y'all that everyone is going to do the countdown in the living room," Lizzie's eyes widen slightly.

"Alycia and yourself?" Lizzie asks slightly afraid of the answer as she looks around subtly.

"Yeah. She, um, she walked ahead of us," Scarlett informs them.

"How much did you two hear?" Robbie jumps in all of a sudden. "Enough," Scarlett answers and shoots Lizzie a slight look.

"I'll see y'all in there," the shorter blonde tells them quickly before walking away. Robbie rubs Lizzie's back in reassurance before following Scarlett back into the living room.

Lizzie's eyes zero's in at Alycia who was standing across the room in Eliza's arms. She quickly looks away not wanting to give Robbie another reason to question her commitment to their relationship. The blonde cursed herself for saying the things she said without thinking twice. It was a lie, Alycia wasn't just a friend and she certainly would still love to have Alycia in her life, but at the same time, she could not-not fight for the wedding that may have been canceled if she said otherwise.

Lizzie felt ashamed for hurting Alycia at the expense of her not being confronted regarding her true feelings, now it was too late to take it back.

Robbie's arm snakes around Lizzie's waist as everyone starts counting down from 10. The blonde tries her best to show some excitement but she couldn't help but let her heart slowly break at the sight of Alycia and Eliza wrapped in each other's arms.

Lizzie snaps out of her overthinking mind once she feels Robbie's lips smashed into hers. She freezes for a second but quickly starts responding.

Across the room, Eliza smiles up at Alycia cupping her jaw and slowly bringing their faces together. Alycia smiles against Eliza's lip once she felt the blonde's soft lips on her. 'Maybe this is where I'm supposed to be. Maybe this is Universe's way of telling me who I'm meant to be with,' Alycia thought.

Eliza deepens the kiss by pulling Alycia closes by her neck while the brunette pushes Eliza closer to her by pressing on the blonde's lower back.

"Hey, you two! Get a room!" Sebastian yells at them making them laugh against each other's lips before pulling away.

Lizzie ignores the stinging in her heart as she witnesses the two women swap saliva and pull her fiance back for another kiss. 'Maybe this is where I'm supposed to be. Maybe this is Universe's way of telling me who I'm meant to be with,' Lizzie thought.
