(relevant to chapter 45 of the tokyo revengers manga) y'all i'm so sorry it took this long, but chifuyu is actually in this chapter!!

2005

"hey, takemichi." y/n said, on the phone with her friend, who had called while she was eating breakfast before school.

"i'm outside your house."

"what the fuck, dude?!" she went up to her window, and saw takemichi looking at her from the sidewalk. she gave him a look that said something along the lines of: "why the fuck are you outside my house at 8:00am?!"

the boy quickly realised how it sounded, and was quick to reassure her he wasn't a creep.

"no, no, no, that's not what i mean! sorry... i'm back from the future, and i needed to talk to you." he told her.

y/n understood, and she nodded at him through the window, before hanging up and gathering her things. she left the house, and made sure to lock her door before making her way to her friend. it was a cool morning, so y/n threw her grey hoodie over her uniform as they started walking.

"you're back..? i thought you fixed everything..." y/n was worried to hear what takemichi had come back to in the future. it must've been bad, otherwise he wouldn't have had to return.

"i though i did... but it was all exactly the same, except this time i watched them die, right in front of my eyes..." takemichi sniffled, obviously trying his best not to cry.

y/n put her hand on his shoulder comfortingly and smiled, "it'll work this time, takemichi, i'm sure of it."

"thanks, y/n."

"so, what'd ya need to tell me?"

"yesterday, i got taken to valhalla's hideout..." he began.

"valhalla?" y/n wasn't exactly up to date with all of the new gang drama happening.

"a gang that's challenging toman to a fight. one of toman's founding members, baji-kun, is joining them, and mikey-kun asked me to get him back... in exchange, he's going to kick kisaki out of toman." takemichi said, deep in his thoughts.

"wait, kisaki? isn't that the guy you said was responsible for making toman so evil in the future?!" y/n remembered what he had told her the first night she knew he was a time-leaper.

"yeah, but mikey also said that if i didn't get baji-kun back... h-he would kill me..." takemichi shuddered.

"i...i'm sure he was just kidding." however, y/n knew that mikey was very capable of fulfilling that promise.

the two walked in silence for a moment, before y/n spoke up. it was something she'd been wanting to ask for a while, but had never come across an appropriate moment.

"what happens to me...? in the future, i mean."

"you shouldn't worry y/n... ever future i've been to, you seem to have a pretty decent life." he smiled, "i even went out for coffee with you, but i never got to meet your husband."

he sort of felt bad for running out on her at the cafe, but he had just gotten back from the past, and he was a little pre-occupied.

"about this husband... do you know his name?" y/n didn't want to seem eager, but she had thought about this future husband of hers quite a lot, and would at least like to be informed of his name.

"uhh, let me think..." takemichiknew she had told him, but was having trouble remembering... surely it was somewhere in his brain.

"hey! c'mere!" a male voice called from the playground next to them. y/n stiffened, hoping he wasn't talking to them. she pretended not to notice him, but takemichi looked in the person's direction.

"huh?"

"siddown." the voice said. y/n decided there wouldn't be much harm in looking too. she was quite surprised to see a beaten up boy, the same age as her, sitting on a swing, with bandages covering half of his face. y/n hoped he was pretty under the bandages too, because she found the rest of his quite attractive. wait, what was she thinking? this was a total stranger who's asking them to sit on a children's swing set with him.

"just ignore him." takemichi said, more to himself than y/n, but she agreed nonetheless. however, when they continued walking, he spoke up again.

"yesterday was a total disaster for us both, huh?"this caused takemichi to stop in his tracks once more, y/n following suite.

"huh...? yesterday?"  they both glanced back at the boy. he looked like he was up to no good; earring, undercut, beat to a pulp. although, y/n couldn't help but find him quite compelling.

"baji-san's a total badass, ain't he?" the boy smirked. 'baji-san'. she had heard that name before. actually, she had heard it mere moments ago, when takemichi was telling her about valhalla. maybe this guy really was bad news.

"you were... baji-kun's friend?" takemichi asked, slowly inching closer to the boy. y/n had turned towards him, but had no intention of getting any closer. takemichi's body was hiding most of hers, so the boy might not have even noticed her until now, and it was hard to see from the distance they were at.

"tokyo manji gang. first division vice-captain. chifuyu matsuno." he said.

y/n thought he was pretty cool. and there was nothing to worry about anymore, he was apart of toman. though, when takemichi heard this, he paused for a moment. he remembered y/n's husband's name now. it was the boy sitting only a few meters away from them. takemichi had been pretty distracted at the time, but he clearly remembered y/n saying they had met in high school. did he accidentally bring them together sooner? it didn't matter right now. he had seen this guy at valhalla's hideout, and he wanted to know more.

"you're the guy baji-kun beat the shit outta!!" he exclaimed

"so are you." matsuno  retorted, calmly, which made takemichi go silent

y/n slowly approached them while they continued talking. when she came to a halt next to takemichi, matsuno paused for a moment. he stared at her for a second, recognising her, then turning back to takemichi. weird.

on the other hand, y/n felt stupid for not realising it was the boy that lived across from her. they had never been so close to each other before, and both thought the other was even cuter up close. chifuyu matsuno, huh? she hoped they would see each other more.

"baji-san's got something else in mind." the beat-up boy stood up from the swing.

"like what?" takemichi asked, intrigued.

"kisaki." he said, back turned on the two of them.

"baji-san joined valhalla so he could get at kisaki!"
