It's just past 7pm when I get home from helping momma with today's deliveries for her catering business. I'm tired as fuck, annoyed with Riah for blowing my phone up the whole time I was with momma and I'm in a mood because I haven't heard from Kasey since she left my house yesterday.
I know she ain't my girl and I shouldn't be pressed because I haven't heard from her but I am.
I take a long, hot shower to ease my mind once the weed got me feeling good but that doesn't make Kasey leave my thoughts. If anything, showering makes it worse.
I can't close my eyes without seeing her bent over on my bed, screaming my name.
When I'm out the shower and dressed in black joggers and a blue and black hoody, I get comfy on the couch. After I find a college basketball game on TV, I reach for my phone on the table.

I sit in bed, gripping my phone a lil' shocked. Kasey had the baby!
I jump up and call her as soon as I'm done obsessing over how cute and little Zaylee is.
"Hello?" Kasey's sleepy voice answers and gives me goosebumps.
"I'm mad you didn't text me before you had her so I could be there."
"Really?" She asks.
"Yeah. I wanted to be there for that."
"You can come and be here now." She says lightly and then yawns.
I was tired before but now I'm up and excited to see my baby girl.
"Aight mama, I'm on my way."
"See you soon."
I hang up and I'm out the front door in two minutes. I send the picture to momma and let her know I'm on the way to the hospital and then I do the dash across town.
Mercedes is in the hospital room with Kasey when I get there but Zaylee isn't.
"Hey best friend." Mercedes greets me with a hug and plants a kiss on my jaw.
"Wassup? Yo, why you ain't call me? I woulda been came up here." I ask. I'm annoyed I'm the last one at the hospital when I wanted to be the first.
Kasey sighs and lays back in the hospital bed.
"I didn't know if you was foreal about this baby mama stuff." She says softly. "This ain't no joke to me. She's here now which makes everything real for me."
"I'm bein' dead ass when I talk to you about Zaylee. She's my baby too and you shoulda called me, man."
"Okay, alright. I'm sorry I didn't call you." Kasey's voice is soft and I can tell she's exhausted but she's still breathtaking.
