Kasey and Zaylee stay with me for two days before they go back to Mercedes' apartment. When they leave and I'm left with the silence that comes with their absence, it's hard for me not to acknowledge the fact Kasey got me in my feelings for her.

I'm antsy by 6pm, so I pick up my phone while smoking and send Kasey a message.

Damn it feel mad different wit out y'all here..don rlly like it like dat..🥴

"That's cute you missed her. She's been so sleepy and cuddly today." Kasey says from the couch with Zaylee in her arms. I sit next to them and tickle her cute little feet.

"Hey mama." I kiss her foot and then nudge Kasey's shoulder.

"Why you act like you don't miss me?" I ask her bluntly.

Kasey keeps her eyes on Zaylee but I can see a tiny smile playing on her lips.

"That's because I don't."

"Oh, damn." I say and pretend like I'm hurt. She rolls her eyes and then can't hide her smile as it widens.

"Awww, okay fine."

"What that mean?" I tease as we make eye contact.

"I be missing you a little bit, I guess. But don't make it something it's not..." she says, making my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. "Like as a friend..."

I feel like I just hit a home run.

But I don't wanna make shit awkward so I nod and keep everything I'm feeling inside because I can already tell she's uncomfortable.

Kasey's feeling me too.

That's all I keep repeating to myself as I busy myself with rolling a blunt for us to smoke when she gets Zaylee back to sleep.

"Your phone's ringing." Kasey nods towards my phone on the other end of the couch.

When I pick it up, momma's name flashes across the screen.

"Open the door, I'm outside." Momma says through the phone once I answer it. I don't know how comfortable Kasey's gonna be meeting my mom so soon but I guess I'm about to find out.
