"Shhhh, it's okay Zaylee." Quietly, I walk back and forth with Zaylee in my arms screaming her lungs out. It's almost 6am and I've been fighting with her to go back to sleep for almost two hours.
Ughhhhhhh.
I walk back upstairs, ready to hand her over to Kasey when she finally stops crying and grunts loudly.
"Oh, you just gotta shit." I chuckle and head back downstairs.
I sit on the couch and lay Zaylee down on the couch, remembering the small exercises I saw Momma doing the other day when the baby was fussy. With her big, bright brown eyes on me, Zaylee let's me scrunch her legs up before I move them in a circular motion. Each time I start another circle, she releases a loud fart and makes me laugh to myself.
I remember Kasey being concerned yesterday about Zaylee going 48 hours without pooping and now I know why. She's constipated.
So I continue to do those exercises for a few minutes and then switch it up by massaging her belly the same way I saw Kasey do a few times.
Finally, the smell of Zaylee filling her diaper lingers past my nose. I look away from her cuteness as she stares into my soul while pooping. When she's done, she doesn't wait half a second before she starts screaming, ready for me to change her diaper.
So I change her and go upstairs to get a new onesie since some of her poop came out the side of her diaper. On my way to my bedroom, I hear Kasey on the phone.
Automatically, I know exactly who she's talking to.
"Rod, it's barely 6am. Why are you calling me back to back like a fucking psycho?"
I stand by the door and listen quietly, rocking Zaylee to keep her from making a sound.
"And I already told you I'm in New York." Kasey sighs and moves around on my bed. "I live here, obviously. You don't need to worry about with who. Oh, wow."
Zaylee blows my cover and starts cooing and reaching for my locs that need to be redone.
"You can come in, babe." Kasey calls out to me and makes me smile.
I'm still not used to hearing her call me anything other than annoying but it's nice. I like the cute little pet names she keeps giving me.
I open the door to see her sitting with her back against my headboard and the phone sitting on top of her big ass titties.
"Babe? Yo, man who the fuck you got around my daughter man?" Rodney's voice comes through the speakerphone and it's a lot deeper than I thought it would be.
"Rodney, you better chill out. I'm not like your other baby mama's. You ain't gonna be questioning what I'm doing and who I'm with. I told you I'm in a relationship and if you can't handle that, then I don't know what to tell you." Kasey says and then the line goes dead silent.
Yo, real shit, she got me cheesing from ear to ear, putting that nigga in check on her own.
Rodney smacks his lips and probably rolls his eyes. Kasey motions for me to join her on the bed and then she opens her arms for Zaylee.
"Hey pretty baby." She kisses Zaylee's rosy cheeks and accepts the smile she's graced with. I grin too.
"When can I see my kid? Or yo new nigga gon have sum to say 'bout it? 'Cause ion give a fuck what that nigga talkin' 'bout. On God, man."
"You can see Zaylee when you drive to New York, where we live." She says calmly.
"Man...aight, Kasey."
"Alright." Kasey doesn't wait two seconds before hanging the phone up. After the call ends, she rolls her eyes and gives me her attention.
"Sorry you had to hear his stupid ass. He's so annoying."
I let out a chuckle and shrug my shoulders.
"I was bound to hear him at some point. Why you ain't tell him I'm not a dude?"
"It's not his business." She says bluntly and then reaches and puts her phone on DND. "Plus, he ain't coming to New York. So I'm not really tripping...and neither should you."
"How you know that though?"
"He got three kids all in the same apartment complex that he doesn't see and they're in the same state as him. You really think he's gonna come all this way to see a baby he's never met before when he hasn't even asked for any pictures?"
Oh, damn. I shrug my shoulders and glance down at Zaylee in the gray and pink onesie. I don't know how anyone could choose not to be in their child's life, especially when they look like Zaylee.
"Exactly." Kasey says and then takes a deep breath. "All he wants to do is see if I would still fuck on him like all his other BM's that he still has access to. He doesn't care about Zaylee."
"Well, I do."
She grins and nods her head. Knowing her baby daddy doesn't have access to MY GIRL fills my chest with so many different feelings, all I can do is smile.
"I know. That's why we're here, with you. I'm not thinking about that boy." She reassures me by touching my cheek softly.
"Get dressed. I'm taking y'all to breakfast." I say, still smiling like a fool.

"Do you miss breastfeeding?" I ask Kasey an hour and a half later while we sit inside of IHOP, waiting for our food. She shrugs and moves hair from her face.
"Kinda."
"Why kinda?"
"Because like...I miss the bonding part but not my nipples cracking and bleeding and leaking and all that." Her eyes fall down towards her cleavage so mine do the same.
My body shudders and she laughs.
"So do you want to have any babies of your own?" Kasey asks me as she takes a sip of ice water.
My eyes widen at her question. I've never thought about getting pregnant. But now that I am, the answer is no.
"Oh, nah. I'm good with Zaylee."
I couldn't imagine getting pregnant. Yeah, fuck no. Pregnancy looked good on Kasey but it ain't something I'm tryna see on me.
"Hmmm. Okay. I'm still shocked I'm with a female."
I laugh at her comment and smile a little.
"Why's that?"
"Because I'm not gay. I don't like girls." She rolls her eyes. "But I like you."
"I like you too. Foreal. Probably more than I should so soon but you make it hard not to." I confess with hot cheeks.
Kasey blushes and tries to put her attention on Zaylee but ends up looking back at me a second later.
"I don't even be doin' nothing." She smiles again and then covers her face.
"You don't have to, Kasey."
"It's baby to you." Kasey grins as our food arrives. The way her eyes light up and her smile covers my body in shivers, I know she's the one for me.
I never thought I would be falling for somebody else's baby mama the way Kasey got me falling for her. Shit is so crazy, I can't stop myself from smiling too.
Damn...I really got it bad.
