"You okay Peter?" The girl continued to keep her gaze on the machine as she worked, but was still able to tell he was there, and he grinned.
"Yeah... Fine, I guess. Why'd you ask?"
"Cos you sound sad. You were sighing a lot."
"Was I? Oh, sorry." He laughed awkwardly. "I must have been distracting you."
She turned her head, her brown hair falling over her face. "Yeah. You have been."
"Sorry."
"Already said that."
"I know, I wanted to apologise again."
"A superhero apologising to me, twice? I feel so honored."
"Shut up."
They laughed, as Ned walked in.
"MJ, I got the thingies you wanted. Why'd you need this stuff?" He pulled a small packet of donuts out of the bag.
"Because I'm hungry. And these are amazing."
She gestured to the others to eat as she looked at the machine some more.
"Peter?" She set her gaze on a small button on the side of it.
"Yeah?" He replied, his mouth full of donut.
"What does this do?"
"That..." He swallowed some of the food and walked over. "That...uh... I don't know."
"Can I test it?"
"Sure!"
"Hopefully, it doesn't blow up." Ned smiled at them, and carefully walked back a little.
"It would be pretty cool if it did though," MJ smirked.
"Don't make me think about that! Happy'll get so mad at us!"
"We'd like, actually die." She was on the verge of laughing.
"It's not funny!"
Peter watched as she pressed the button.
