Eddie, over several hours, managed to explain practically everything he knew: from the police officer to the shipwreck. Once he had finished, the three people he still couldn't believe were actually adults began to piece things together.
"So, " Peter slumped in the café chair. "We can't trust anyone... They could all be... Nobodies."
MJ placed a hand on his shoulder. "Yeah. Except us. I still trust you guys."
"Of course! We have to stick together!" Ned grinned. "Otherwise we'll get eaten by some alien with, like, a really long head."
"You watch too many movies, man."
They laughed as the food arrived.
"Can we think of a plan? I kinda only came here to warn you." Eddie grabbed a muffin.
"We need to talk to the Avengers. I don't think they know you yet." Peter looked at him. "Can you come with me?"
"Of course. Don't tell them everything though. We still don't know who to trust." He bit into the muffin.
"Me and Ned will keep trying to fix the machine. Sorry again for kind of... breaking it."
"It wasn't your fault. I didn't know what the button did. Why would any of us know that it would set off some self-destruct thing?"
MJ smiled and yanked her phone out of her pocket. "There are so many posts about you Peter. Like, seriously. Why do people care about you so much?"
"I'm a super-hero...? I've saved the world about a dozen times. And now people know my face."
"And we can't get the Wizard to fix it because of reasons."
"Well... Yea-"
His sentence was cut short by the rock thrown through the window.
