Anakin's POV

—We took down one Rebel base on Ryloth. It was a small one, however, we got access to their database and discovered the locations of at least two more hideouts. — Qui-Gon explained.

—The Geonosis one is less complicated, but the one located in Hoth is tricky. The planet is a snowball. Also, the hideout is inside the planet's caves, so there goes the element of surprise. —Sighed Obi-Wan.

—Don't be so negative, Obi-Wan. That pushes us to have a more aggressive approach. Just my style.—I smiled cockily.

—Don't get so ahead of yourself, Anakin. We cannot afford to lose troops in such a simple mission. We need a detailed plan. We will discuss this in our briefing tomorrow.—Qui-Gon stated.

Not even when we switched to the dark side he stopped being so... himself. Wise, mindful, strategic. I still remembered the day I found out he was tampering with the dark side. I cannot say I was totally surprised with that information. After all, Qui-Gon was never the most faithful follower of the Jedi Code.

But still, I was shocked. Imagine watching your father figure go against everything he has ever taught you. I was furious, I felt betrayed until he explained everything; How he thought the Council was corrupt, how the Senate was a useless organization and how unappreciated we were. They, in fact, treated us like pawns. He told me every reservation he had against the Council, especially against Windu. I remember his words exactly:

—C'mon Anakin, you have seen the way they treat you. It breaks my heart everytime they ignore your suggestions or undermine your abilities. You are our strongest Jedi and they constantly bench you. They don't trust you. They don't value you. Why would we stay? — I saw his nostrils getting bigger with every word he said.

—I must admit, I have had questions about the Order myself, ever since the beginning of the Clone Wars. Aren't we supposed to be peacekeepers? I feel they don't behave accordingly to what they preach... —I shook my head, looking at the floor. —You're right, Qui-Gon. I thought it was my ego, but... I can't shake this feeling every time they push me aside, every time they make me feel useless. Not to mention, I still haven't forgiven them for not letting me rescue my mother...—I admitted with a growing ball of anger inside my chest.

—Before I even brought you to Coruscant, they repeatedly questioned my judgment and it got worse with my request to train you. I have believed in you this whole time, I have never regretted rescuing you from Tatooine. But sometimes... I wonder if I caused you more pain than good by bringing you here.— He scratched his forehead with defeat.

—My Master, I have a life's debt with you, you saved me from the claws of hell. Protected me. Trained me. I could never repay you. —I assured him, suddenly feeling guilty for ever second guessing him. I know that Qui-Gon would never turn his back to the Jedi Order without a reason. Who am I to question him? —I'll follow you, master.

—My boy, I don't expect you to join me. I understand if this is a path you can't understand, but just know I can't stay. I have been learning the dark side methods with a Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. I believe I can overthrow him, and the Senate too. Restore peace through an Empire. —He beamed a wicked grin, that suddenly fell. —But we cannot do that with the Jedi still around, so we are planning on... eliminating them. I'm telling you now, so you have time to run away-
