"So, yeah... That's the whole story."
Aiden and Aaron looked intensely at me for three whole seconds before they burst out laughing.
"W-what?" I asked, suddenly feeling self-concious.
Aiden and Aaron ignored me and just kept laughing.
"Y-y-you have the worst luck!" Aaron panted out finally, rubbing the stitches in his side.
"Yeah, tell me about it."
"But, oooooh, you and Keith are getting cosy together, huh?" Aiden cooed teasingly.
I just glared at him.
"Oh, and the part where you were shirtless... Are you sure-"
"Shut up Aaron! Don't! I'm fourteen!"
Aaron stared blankly at me.
"I- uh, I was going to ask are you sure you're not bruised or anything from falling."
"Oh."
"But, it says a lot that your pretty little head jumped straight to... That."
I swatted Aaron's shoulder, feeling my face heat up so much, you probably could have cooked an egg on it.
"Please don't..."
"Hey, you should tell yourself that, gutter-brain!"
"Okay, well I can't help it when all that comes out of your mouth is inappropriate crap!"
"Says the girl who thinks-"
"Oh, come on, Aaron! I'm not even half as bad as you. Can we drop it?"
Aaron laughed.
"Yeah, I know. You're not even close to my level. I'm just doing this because of that adorable look of irritation on your face."
My face got redder and hotter.
"Hey, if you blush anymore you might blow up, dude." Aiden pointed out, snickering.
"Shut up, dude." I mimicked Aiden.
"Well, he's right though. You're tomato shaming right now."
I rolled my eyes, but laughed nonetheless.
After that, we spread ourselves across the broad steps, and just stared up at the sky quietly, enjoying the comfortable silence.
"So, do you still like him?" Aiden asked.
"Ugh, really?" I sat up trying to bite down the smile on my face. "I'm dying little-by-little. This arrangement is just pure torture."
Aaron laughed, and he too sat up.
"It's going to be fine. It'll work out if it has to." He said, taking my hand and squeezing it.
"Yep!" Aiden smacked me on the back of my head. "You'll be fine. In fact, I can't wait to watch this week play out. Promise us that we'll get daily updates."
"Yes! Promise us!" Aaron demanded, squeezing my hand again.
I laughed.
"I can't escape this, can I?"
"Nope." Aaron and Aiden said in unison, popping the 'p'.
"Fine, fine. I promise."
"Smart girl." Aiden nodded approvingly.
"Can't believe you still like him, though! He's like the longest crush you've had!" Aaron pointed out.
"Who's the longest crush you've had?" Aiden, Aaron and I jumped.
"Keith! H-hi!"
"Hi." Keith smiled warmly at me. "So, what were we discussing? Who's has the lucky crush?"
"No one. Not me at least."
"Yeah, we were talking about Aiden." Aaron agreed.
Aiden glared severe daggers at me and Aaron before he too, nodded.
"Oh please, I'm not stupid. Aiden has liked that girl from his school for so long now. Don't take me for an idiot."
"Well..." Aaron trailed off, cluelessly.
"He's... Bi?" I tried lamely.
Keith just glared at me, but I swear I saw a bolt of pain flash through his eyes.
"Okay, then. That's fine, I get it. We haven't spoke for sometime, I understand the lack of trust. Uh, here are your keys. You can go home, I'm going for a walk."
Keith dropped the keys in my lap, and turned to walk away.
I bit down hard on my lip.
'Go!' Aaron and Aiden mouthed, pointing not-so-subtly at Keith.
I groaned.
This was more than likely to go extremely sideways.
"Keith! Wait!" I jumped off the stairs and ran after him.
"What?" Keith asked softly.
His eyes shone with sadness, making my heart tug.
"I'm sorry."
"No, I'm sorry. I'm forcing you to trust me, after I pretty much ignored you for... How long was it?"
"Two years." I said, quietly. "But who's counting?"
"Yep. See?"
"Okay, let's get one thing straight. You aren't forcing me to do anything. Okay? I just... I just can't tell you who the guy is, because it's complicated."
"It's always complicated, Kylie. Always. Believe me, I'd know." Keith looked away.
"Please Keith... I can't..."
"That's okay. Just forget it, alright? Today doesn't seem to be a good day for our chemistry..." He laughed, and winked at me.
"No, it does not." Keith and I took another step, before he turned and looked at me.
"Has anyone ever told you, you're the strangest roommate ever? I mean, why did you have a pair of beach shorts hanging off your fan?"
I choked.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"You had a pair of these hella colourful shorts that fell on my head when I put the fan on." Keith grinned, while amusement danced through his eyes.
I groaned.
"God, please tell me you're kidding!"
"No, I'm not."
I sighed, painfully.
"I must have tried chucking them somewhere when I was changing in the morning."
"Oh, yeah! The chaos of the morning."
I blushed under Keith's smirk.
"Stop it!" I muttered, shoving him.
Keith didn't move an inch. Well, to be honest I should have expected that, because firstly, Keith was like a whole head and shoulders taller than me, and he was built like a firetruck. A thin one.
What? That doesn't even make sense! What's a thin firetruck?!
I shook my head, and covered my face with my hands.
Keith however, couldn't allow that. He tugged my hands away from my face, and greeted me to a teasing, boyish smile.
"All okay?"
"Hmm." I nodded.
My breath had hitched from the close quarters, and I'd forgotten how to think.
"Good."
Keith leaned down and kissed me on my cheek, before he turned and walked off.
"Go, get your stuff, I'll wait for you in the lobby."
What did he say? Sorry, I was too busy standing there shocked. Keith had just... What?
