Because Keith had told me to come home, I just wasted the rest of my time. Oh, and Aiden and Aaron refused to stop teasing me. So, by the time I left, I was a crimson mess.

But, I shook it off, and headed upstairs.

Thankfully, I hadn't really played today. So, I didn't have even a drop of sweat on me. Which meant, I could shower after whatever it was Keith had to show me.

And so, I was feeling pretty good about my plan, until I walked out the lift, to find a note on my gate.

Come upstairs. You'll find all you need upstairs.
-Keith.

I tugged the note off the door and stared at it.

When would he just stop being difficult?!

I sighed and changed directions, yanking myself up the many flights of stairs to Keith's house.

~~~~~~
As soon as I'd gotten there, Teresa had opened the door for me, and told me to "Come right in!"
Before she shoved me into one of the bathrooms with a pile of clothes.
"Shower and change! We'll wait for you." Teresa called through the door.
We?
Nevertheless, I did as was asked of me, and emerged a little while later to Teresa's smiling face.
"That was fast."
I nodded.
"I have to beat up Keith. I have to be fast."
Teresa laughed.
"You know, I don't think you'll want to do that when you see what he's done."
I narrowed my eyes at Teresa, earning another laugh as she steered me into the sitting room.
My mouth dried up and my jaw-dropped.
Keith stood there, all dressed up in a shirt and pair of black jeans, with a small flower in his hands. He had a boyish grin on his face, and he seemed to be just as starstruck as I was.
For a moment, I wondered why.
Until I looked down at myself.
I was wearing a navy blue pair of shorts, and white flowy sort of blouse, with intricate floral designs on it, and a pair of black flats.
Hey, wait a minute, I didn't own any of these things.
"I did the shopping." Teresa said, interpreting my confused expression. "And Keith did all the planning."
I looked back at Keith, and sure enough, there was a proud yet hopeful look in his eyes, that was directed right at me.
"Ready to see my project?" He asked, offering me his hand.
I nodded, not sure what to say.
Keith's smile grew wider, as I took his hand and let him lead me back to my house.
He unlocked the door, and let us in, and for a moment, I just stood there, shocked.
A light dusting of rose petals covered the floor, and the smell of vanilla scented candles filled the air. The lighting had all been dimmed, giving the entire place a warm, welcoming, friendly aura, while soft music played in the background.
"I know you were supposed to go for that party today, but you couldn't. I just thought why not do something you may enjoy? I mean this is kinda like a party too, right? It's just two people, and that way we can do whatever we'd like to. Which ranges from watching a movie, to dancing, or a board game, or anything you'd like."
"Let's do it all." I said, breathlessly. "Let's dance, let's play, let's watch a movie, let's do it all."
Keith tighetened his grip on my hand, and the music got louder.
"Whatever you want."
Keith pulled me closer and we swayed to the music.
"Thank you for doing this for me." I told him.
Keith smiled.
"Oh please, you don't need to thank me."
I stared at Keith.
"All I've done is be an irritating goat. I even hit you! And all you've done is be unbearably sweet. You shouldn't have taken all this trouble. In fact, I should have done something for you."
"You gave me a second chance, didn't you? That's all I need."
"A second chance? Keith, you never needed one. I was just really over-dramatic. None of this is your fault. Stop believing you have to make it right."
Keith's smile faded.
"I really wish I could. It just weighs down on me everytime I imagine those tears running down your face. It kills me that I was the one to cause them."
"You weren't the one to cause them." I said quietly. "That was all on me. I lost sight of the happiness you'd given me and let myself believe you'd taken it all away. Keith, it was never your fault. And it will never be. And if you care about me, even a little, you'll accept that."
Keith didn't say anything, choosing instead to just lean down and peck me on the cheek.
His curly hair tickled my forehead, and made me grin.
"I'll accept if you stop blaming yourself, too. Let's just leave whatever happened behind, and just move forward."
"Okay, I accept."
"Good! I accept too."
I grinned at Keith and he grinned back before he leaned down again, and kissed me on my lips this time.
He was right. We couldn't hang on like this forever. We needed to move on, and what better time to start than now?
