(Back to Kylie's POV)
After the whole, confessing incident, I kinda hated Keith. Mainly, because he forced something– that I wasn't ready for– out of me.
But, then again, in a way this was good. I mean, I was finally out in the open, right?
In my pocket, my phone dinged with an unlimited amount of notifications.
Not really knowing what else to do, I pulled out my phone.
I had 3 missed calls from my parents, 6 from Aiden, 7 from Aaron, and one message from Naomi.
I called my parents first.
~~~~~~
Worried parents, a ton of reassuring and a lot of shouting later, my parents hung up the phone, and left me to my business.
Next to get addressed were Aiden and Aaron.
I was too lazy to explain all that happened twice, and so I just group video called the two of them.
"Kylie! What's up?! You've been off-grid for the past day and a half." Aiden asked.
"Is that such a bad thing?" I asked Aiden.
"That depends on what's gone down in said time." Aaron smirked.
I sighed.
Might as well just give them a low-down on all that happened.
~~~~~~
It was fair to say that Aiden and Aaron were surprised by the end of it.
Plus, hearing it all happen kinda shocked me too.
What was happening to my life?!
But, they were supportive about it.
"So, will you come down today then? Relieve some of your stress..." Aiden said.
"Or, the three of us can go out and burn some time." Aaron offered.
I sighed.
"Those both sound like really good offers, but I think I'm going to spend sometime being sad with my headphones, a pillow and a blankie..."
"A blankie?!" Aaron sniggered.
"Sounds fair." Aiden nodded, ignoring Aaron.
"Yeah, it does. Anyways, we'll see you later then?" Aaron asked.
"Yep. See you guys later."
"Cool, bye-bye, Drama Magnet."
I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"That nickname has got to be the worst one I've ever had."
Aaron winked.
"Yeah, that's the point."
"Okay, good bye!"
Aaron and Aiden laughed before they cancelled the call.
I shook my head at the blank screen before I got up and went to hunt for my comrades at sadness.
~~~~~~
I must have fallen asleep on the sofa, because when I got up, all the lights were off everywhere, and someone had rung the door bell.
I stumbled off the couch, and stubbed my toe hard on the center table.
"Ouch!"
Then, I staggered through the darkness, and misjudged the distance from the door. Which resulted in me walking face first into the main door.
Hard.
"I'm coming!" I sighed at the poor person outside the door, while I rubbed my nose.
Finally, I found the door knob and yanked the door open.
"Hey, I'm sorry I- Keith?"
"Hey." Keith looked showered and dressed, so I assumed that he'd come back from football sometime ago.
Oh shit.
Without thinking, I slammed the door shut in his face.
I re-opened the door, smiling sheepishly.
"Sorry, the wind..." I motioned stupidly at the non-existent air currents.
Keith nodded.
"No, I get it. The air these days. So stressful, am I right?"
I sighed.
"The rightest." I opened the gate for him and let him in.
Keith walked in, but his body language was tensed, like he was being cautious about something.
A third sigh escaped my lips.
"I'm sorry, Keith."
Wait, why am I apologising?
Keith must have caught my weird expression because he laughed nervously.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I don't know!" I groaned. "It just seemed like the right thing to do."
"Yeah, well if anyone needs to be sorry, it's me. I shouldn't have forced anything out of you. Especially not something like that, and especially not since you clearly weren't ready to tell me."
"I agree." I nodded at Keith.
"So, I'm sorry."
"That's okay. I know I'll never understand your motive for it, but I get it. It get super annoying, and hella tiring if people are keeping secrets from you so obviously. And it gets even worse when you feel like that secret is about you. Therefore, I'm sorry too."
"My motive." Keith chuckled. "You'll never believe it."
"Try me."
"Well, don't say I didn't warn you."
I smiled and raised my eyebrow.
"So, am I going to get an answer or...?"
"Yeah..."
Few more seconds of silence passed.
"Keith?"
Keith took a step forward, and he kept taking one with each word he said.
"My." Step.
"Motive was." Step step.
"Insecure jealousy." Step step.
"Oh... Wait-what?"
Insecure jealousy? But that means he needed a reason to be jealous, and I- wait, did Keith-?!
I never got to react, because suddenly, Keith was just in front of me, and his lips were on mine, and my heart was in a puddle at my feet.
I kissed back, obviously, but I think that kiss was all Keith.
It was just- wow.
I'm crazy, and it was wow.
I don't even have the words to describe it!
You know what? I think I'll just spare you guys the details, and my rambling and all that, and just tell you guys to imagine it the way you think it should be.
It was too much for me to even describe.
