Rana

"Dei, just shut up and leave me already!"Rana exclaimed to his best friend who is planning to ditch today's classes and torturing Rana to accompany him to the newly released movie.

Rana being the president of the college, has to be attentive and supervise whether all the activities for the welcoming ceremony of first-year students were going well. He was in such a hurry, walking through the college and all classes to make sure everything is fine and Tarun being the clingy one was irritating him to the core.

Rana and Tarun were walking towards the stadium where the ceremony was soon going to be held when Leena stopped them, "Hey Rana, What's up?" the girl who is hitting on Rana for the last 3 years asked him locking some of her loose strands of hair behind her ear. "Facebook" Tarun replied to her and she frowned. Rana and Tarun chuckled walking past a confused Leena.

As Rana was the President of the college he had to be on good terms with all students so that the students wouldn't oppose the decisions taken by him or the college management.

He is calm and composed, funny and smart, dominant and friendly and these traits made him the college president. But still, he has his flaws and that is his anger.

Last year when he was chosen to be the College president, 4th and 5th-year students were against it. They were angry that the candidates from their batch were not chosen. Rana was so on the verge of losing it when they came to confront him. But the students from his class and 1st and 2nd year supported him and they were by his side throughout all the problems.

As of now he is in 4th year, only the 5th year students were his foe. They keep on raising protest against all his decisions but were put back in their place by his thoughtful ideas.

He had revealed his dominant side to the students as a warning that they shouldn't take advantage of him and his position.

Talking about his looks, he is tall well built, sure attractive, and handsome. And his intelligence made him more attractive than he already was.

He has got many proposals from girls from even fifth year but he rejected them politely saying that he was not interested in love and relationships. He was more concerned about his career.

Tarun became Rana's best friend by his clingy and clumsy behavior when they were made to sit together in the first year.

Now back to today, they both entered the stadium and helped some workers to arrange everything properly. Rana checked the mike and volume in the speaker. He also has to give the intro and vote of thanks so he took out the paper where he prepared it and begun going through it walking down the stage.

He peeked through his paper and saw Tarun was flirting with some girls. Rana rolled his eyes at him and slowly got out of the stadium still reading his presentation.

He suddenly bumped into someone and stepped back to see who it was, "sorry President, we are in a hurry"the girl who bumped into him said. She was holding another girl by her wrist.

His eyes landed on another girl whose head was hung down and her teardrops were falling on the floor. He couldn't get a glimpse of her face but his eyes became soft seeing her small fragile frame shedding tears.

"Is everything okay?" he asked the girl who bumped into him eyeing the another girl. She said "yes president" and was about to walk away but was stopped by Tarun.

"You don't have to call him president, call him by his name or just call him anna( elder brother) or Thambi (younger brother)"Tarun said for which she nodded and they hurriedly left the place. Tarun and Rana looked at each other in confusion as to why they were in such a hurry.

Tarun and Rana wandered through the corridors discussing the setups of the ceremony when a guy came running towards their way and notified Rana that some guys from the 5th year were ragging 1st-year students.

Rana and Tarun sprinted to the place where ragging was happening and they were stunned by the event before them. Few students kneeled before the group of guys and girls who were ragging and it made Rana furious.

He sauntered towards them and made them stand on their feet and endorsed Tarun to take them to their respective classes.

He left the guys and girls who were ragging with a warning and he was more than angry that he couldn't beat them black and blue. He communicated with the ragged students and made sure everyone was alright.

Soon the ceremony begun and the students were welcomed by a rose given to each of them by the Correspondent.
