Chapter 12

JESS POV:

Alby and I had confirmed what was to happen.

I would have no punishments under the condition that I was to never go into the maze I case of a girever attack and me going through the changing and uncovering and even worse possible truth.

Clint and Jeff were both extremely concerned for my health and so I would be spending the next few days in here.

Alby confirmed with the rest of the gladers when 'visiting' time was.

Newt and minho had been gone for over an hour.
I wasn't worried about them, only curious about what they were doing.

I needed to shower and change. I hadn't had a wash since I had first arrived at the glade. I must have stank.

I'll do that later, I put a mental not in my mind.

I managed to have a rest.

Not a sleep just a rest with my eyes closed.

Someone stepped in the room and I was guessing it was minho as I could feel his shaddow going over my eyes, ready to pounce and scare me or something.

"Boo!" He shouted as he grabbed hold of my ankles.

"You didn't scare me minho" I said opening my eyes.

He looked at the floor pretending to be sad.

"So what's up?" Is asked him.

He told me that he had been talking to newt. And then said he needed to talk to me.

"You know that package that came up for you, in the box last week. The one with the note attached to it. Well it's here and i just thought you'd like to open it."

It was wrapped in brown paper and string and a tag with my name on it.

It was quite large and was much lighter Than I had expected.

"Open it then jess" minho said almost excitedly.

"Hey minho where is newt?" I said as I unwrapped the paper.

"Is someone worried about him?" Minho said jokingly."I'm not really sure probably at frypans."

In the package was a cardboard box with brown flowers painted on it.

I removed the lid and was extremely existed about what was inside.

A set of clean clothes, including a shirt and shorts with a set of matching bra and knickers, in my favourite colour that was purple.

There was a pair of pink and grey trainers, wonder what I'd need them for?

There was also a smaller box that was a wash kit. It had a strawberry smelling body wash and a blueberry hair wash, and then a passion fruit bar of soap. Such a fruity Box.
There was also a packet of items for the monthly duties to go with it all. Sadly it was just the plain scented and they weren't fruity like the rest of the things.

"Lucky shuck face!" Minho said " I got nothing like that when I arrived in the box, not fair"

"Looks like someone is jealousy" newt said walking in. Neither of us had even a sensed his presence.

He and I both gave eachother big smiles as I said to minho. "You can share if you like but I would never have guessed that, minho the keeper of the runners, would want to steel like strawberries and passion fruit."

Newt added " no Jess, minho would want to smell like cow clunk as he did live on the old farm eh?"

All three of us cracked up in laughter.

After a while I was feeling really Hungary.

"Hey newt" I said "you want to grab me some food?"

Now I was pleading "please newty newt?"

He agreed and raced out of the medjacks room.

Minho was about to walk out after him."I'll see you later jess!"

"And one more thing , go on a date with newt? For me please" he said right before leaving.

Trust minho to say that.

But he'd only say that to me if newt liked me back?

"Minho!" I slowly got out of bed and began to attempt at running over to him.

When I reached the edge of the room and took a step outside, minho turned around.

"Yes jess" he asked. "You shouldn't be outside." Minho ran over to me.

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Jess newt really likes you too."

"Who said I ever liked him in the first place."

"Oh please jess, the way you look at him, the way he looks at you. You secretly blushing when you think no one is looking."

"Wha-" I started

"Just do it" minho said running off. "Have some faith in your clunky self"

So newt really liked me.

I was trying to stay cool as I made my way back to my room in the medjacks, but I couldn't contain my excitement.

I jumped for joy (literally) which just so happend to be right as winston walked past me.

He gave me a reassuring smile that said 'we all have our moments'

I walked back to my bed and it wasn't long before my food arrived, carried by a gorgeous boy.

My gorgeous boy.

Or soon to be anyway.
