"Where are my apes" Travis asked throwing his hands in the air as he greeted what was left of the team "we couldn't catch any" Garrison huffed ashamed Travis shook his head in rage and looked at Fredricks as the man was helped out of the truck his leg mangled and bleeding "not a single one you took sixty men from eight units and you didn't bring a single ape back" Travis raged Mark ignored GreyStokes unfounded anger and instead made his way over to the rations station and helped himself to a fresh ham and cheese tostie
"We would've succeeded if our air support hadn't been denined you turned that mission into a suicide mission they outnumbered us three to two and if you hadn't noticed only thirty four men came back Erica got carried off back to who knows where and my legs have been all but severed" Fredricks raged tired of Fredricks excuses and disrespectful tone Travis pulled his side arm and shot a round into his brain before turning to the rest of the team "anymore excuses" silence followed as unsurprised mercenaries looked away and mumbled something about apologies and making sure it wouldn't happen again
"What's your plan Mark" Garrison whispered taking his sandwich from him and taking a bite Mark frowned at him and held his hand out for the sandwich back "is it me or do these rations keep getting better" Garrison taunted Mark stared the man down patiently as Garrison continued eating his food like it was the best thing he'd ever tasted "so what happens now I thought you were going to help the apes drive us out" Garrison said under his breath Mark nodded and turned back to the rations table prepared to ignore Garrison stealing his food he picked up a cup of coffee and was about to take a sip when Garrison slipped it out of his hands "Garrison come on get your own food I'm starving" Mark groaned loudly
"You two report to Dreyfus's tent now" a baby faced news journalist who had taken up with Craig's visitors ordered "we don't take orders from you" Garrison responded as though trying to appear bigger than he was Mark looked at him baffled before grabbing a bacon sandwich and starting across the compound "ah thank you I've been meaning to try the bacon I heard Mr GreyStoke got it free from a place called whole foods after rioters broke in" Garrison said reaching out to take Marks sandwich again "not happening man get your own just because your switching sides don't mean we're buddies take my food again I'll shove your head so far up your ass you'll be able to smell your colon" Mark warned as he took an exceptionally large bite out of the middle of his sandwich
Garrison dropped his hand immediately and huffed out a sigh before remembering he still had Marks coffee in the tent Mark was puzzled to find Travis and Dreyfus sitting at a polished oak desk looking irritable while a new man clearly far older than Mark and Garrison combined stood behind the desk with his back to them a bespoke penguin suit comprised his attire along side a Smoking burn mark that was succeeding in changing the colour of his hair "who's the new guy" Mark asked sarcastically as he lent against a stack of ammunition boxes just inside the door Travis looked up startled at the sound of Marks voice before clearing his throat and looking at the new man "ashworth this is Derek Philips he is the founder of polytechnic solutions and he was at Gensys When your wife decided to blow it to shit" Travis introduced
Anger flared on Marks face as he slid his hand to the M9 in the back of his trousers sensing Marks sudden intentions Garrison stamped on his foot almost hard enough to break a bone before muttering as quiet as his voice would allow "if you do anything remotely violent against him you will get yourself and everyone you know killed that is not a man to be sarcastic around" there was a hint of terror in the mans facial expression that suggested Garrison had seen things that would give most people PTSD for a split second he considered disregarding Garrisons warning and ending the mans life along with everyone else in the tent but his chance was gone when Philips brandished a projector remote in silence before he finally turned around revealing his hated face
