After your ''startling'' encounter and grasp, his hand let go of your wrist and flopped back down. He had passed out again. You went back cleaning some of the leftover dirt on his face and a little on his neck.
When you finished, you looked at him for a few seconds. It was said that knights are fierce and mean. But to you, he looked like a little puppy dog. You were still curious to why he was treated like that. But those questions would have to be for another day.
You lightly grabbed his hand. ''Get some rest,'' you said in a low, whispery tone. You placed the cloth on the basin's side and got up. As you were walking away, Jacques cracked an eye open until you disappeared through the door that conjoined the two rooms.
When you returned to your room, all of your servants were lined up and ready to meet your every demand. You didn't feel like getting dressed up for dinner tonight. One of the servants would bring you the dish from the kitchen. On the other hand, you wanted to get out of these muddy and bloody clothes. Your servants filled this ''pool structure'' with warm water as you stripped and walked in. You sat on one of the benches inside while one servant washed your hair and another fetched you the bathing oils.
After all was finished, you sat in the warm water thinking on how you were going to play this all out. As long as your father did not find out, everything would be fine. He NEVER came to this section of the house anyway.
Dry towels and cloths were waiting for you as you stepped out. A skin softening lotion was rubbed on you before you were dressed
in your nightgown. At your desk, was a meal tray from the kitchen, which you sat down and ate. You wondered if your rescue would like some food, but then realized that he was probably still asleep. As you finished your food, you then sat on the bed. A servant pulled back the blankets and sheets while one stoked the fire. You were not a demanding or difficult person to tend to. All you asked, was to have a single lit candle for your night reading.
Your servants returned to their quarter's as they completed their tasks. You got under the blankets and cracked your book open. One of your favorites, a fairytale. All of a sudden, the story began to talk about glances and eye gleams a character was giving to another. You saw a similar gleam in Jacques eye's when he looked at you. You had seen it somewhere....but where? This would have to be a matter for another day, as you closed the book and blew out the candle.
The crashing of the waves and the sunlight woke you up. You wanted to check on Jacques before your servants arrived. Quietly, you snuck through the conjoining doors. You hoped he would be awake, but secretly he was. He felt your soft skin when you held his hand and he smelt your intoxicating lavender/jasmine oils and lotions. As you got up to walk away, he cracked an eye to see your figure in your white satin nightgown. He thought he died and went to heaven, because you looked like an ABSOLUTE angel!
You returned to your room as your servants arrived. You were helped into your daily gown then were placed in front of your vanity while your hair was made up. Jewelry was placed on you to as you were now ready to go to the dining room for breakfast.
As you walked down the marble hall, your heels clicked as servants followed you. They went ahead and pulled out your chair as the chef prepared food. You didn't spend long eating for you wanted to see how Jacques was recovering.
Quickly, you returned to his room. He was still asleep. That kind of annoyed you a little, but you brushed it off and sat on the end of his bed. You pulled a book from a shelf and started reading to him in a low voice out loud. It was a collection of Shakespeare stories and poems. You began reading aloud. "Love can transpose to form and dignity. ''Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,'' you recited. ''And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind,'' you said as another voice finished the line with you.
''You're NOT the ONLY one who knows their way around a book,'' the same voice said. You closed the book and moved closer to him. ''How are you feeling?'' you asked. He was distracted on your beauty to answer at first. Your (H/C) was in braids and curls holding a jeweled headdress. Then the oils and lotions gave off their scents. ''I am a little hungry,'' was what he managed to get out. You gave a nod. ''I'll have the kitchen make something easy for you to handle,'' you replied.
You walked to the door and flagged a servant down. You told them to go to the kitchen and have them make something ''easy'' for our injured guest. The servant gave a bow and left. You resumed your spot at Jacques bedside. ''First of all, where am I?'' he asked with a rasp in his voice. ''Out of all the Warden's of the territories, you are in the South,'' you replied. In his mind, he was away from any authority which was good for now. ''I take it this is the famous Arquette manor then?'' he added. He waited for you to answer, but you knew you were caught.
Slowly, you nodded your head. ''So what's your name mistress Arquette?'' he asked. You were about to answer when you heard a knock on the door. You rose to answer the door. The servant had arrived with Jacques's food. It was on a VERY fancy silver tray. You thanked the servant as they bowed and left.
Jacques slowly sat up. You helped him a little when you set the tray gently on his lap. You found out along with the good looking chest, there was a good looking back too. ''I believe you were about to tell me something?'' he said as he took a bite from a crêpe and raised a brow slightly. ''(Y/N), my name is (Y/N),'' you replied.
