Jacques slowed the horse down, ultimately bringing it to a halt before reaching the stables. Something was wrong, VERY wrong! ''Please, take this,'' he said and pulled out a small dragger from his boot.
You gripped it as you remained on the saddle and Jacques hopped down. He grabbed the reigns and slowly walked. As he got closer, there was a slain stable hand outside the door. Jacques then drew his sword.
He continued walking in as normal as you remained on top of the horse. Everything seemed and sounded normal. You slid off the horse as Jacques led it into it's stall. Maybe everything was normal. The person outside could have gotten into a fight with another. It was not uncommon for weapons to be used to settle some things. As Jacques was removing the riding accessories, the stable door slowly shut as the locking mechanism echoed.
It became dark, only the flames from the lanterns gave off light. A faint silhouette of a person could be made out and then they spoke. ''Again, I was denied the Fort of Belleme even after you left it,'' a familiar voice said to Jacques. ''Then this harlette saves you and takes my justice away, then you get rewarded with a Warden title!'' the voice spoke again. Jacques finally recognized the voice. It was Jean de Carrouges.
''Step back,'' Jacques commanded you as he drew his sword all the way out. You stood off in the corner as they circled one another. Carrouges finally came into the light. His sword was drawn too. You did not know this man, but you could tell that he was a VERY bitter man. Carrouges saw you in the corner and pointed his sword at Jacques. ''So...hoping to have a heir are you? Too bad, because I'm going to END you BOTH,'' he said. Jacques yelled and charged at him. A sword fight then erupted.
Both were evenly matched. The clanging echoed throughout the sable. Carrouges decided to play dirty and kick Jacques to the ground. On the ground, Jacques swiped his led so that Carrouges would fall to the ground too. The battle was even again as they rolled around on the ground. Carrouges had armored gloves on as he punched Jacques over and over cutting some of his face.
Jacques then shoved Carrouges off him. Giving them both time to draw their dagger's. Before Jacques could strike, Carrouges struck first by ramming his dagger into Jacques side rendering him helpless and seriously hurt. ''I'm going to finish you off myself and have your head on a spit...and then I'll take care of that bastard in that whore mother,'' he said as he readied the sword blade at Jacques neck.
You leapt out of the corner and stabbed Carrouges in the back. He turned and pulled it out as he slowly walked towards you. You backed up as he drew closer, then tripping on a bale of straw. On the ground, you frantically backed up until you reached the wall. Carrouges was about to strike until all of a sudden, he had a socked expression which a few sounds and a sword blade sticking out of his mouth. Jacques had driven his sword through the back of Carrouges skull and out his mouth before he harmed you.
Carrouges fell next to you as Jacques fell to his knee's holding himself up with his sword. You scrambled to him quickly. As you held his face, ''Are you alright?'' he breathlessly assied. ''You need help,'' you said with emotion. You hugged him gently as he laid in your arms.
One of the servants on the ground's heard the ruckus in the stable and opened the big main door. You were seen holding a beat and bloody Jacques. ''GO GET HELP!'' you yelled at them. They took off running obeying your command. Jacques laid his head on your shoulder as he breathed heavy. You gently rubbed the back of his head and neck until help arrived.
. after, a group of people arrived at the stables. They took Jacques from you and two giant men placed each of his arm's around their necks. It's a good thing there was a doctor nearby. Someone already ridden off to retrieve them. The two men had taken Jacques inside and took him to the familiar ground bedroom.
Automatically, they took off his shirt which was drenched in dirt, sweat, and blood. All you could do is just stand and watch. He laid on the bed unconscious as the wounds on his face and the gash on his side were cleaned. You felt helpless, but you knew these people knew what they were doing.
The doctor finally arrived along with his nurses and they went to work. Everyone had to leave the room. After an hour passed, they were done and you rushed in. He was still asleep with bandages on his waist. The cuts on his face were just cleaned. Even a bruise was forming on his cheek. This was bringing back memories when you very first found him. You then sat at his side and held his hand and watched remaining sweat roll off his eyelashes.
You dabbed his face lightly as a doctor approached you. ''He will live, so don't worry yourself. Just apply this ointment to his wound,'' he said giving you the bottle and then the doctor and his crew left. Leaving you alone with him. ''We're here FOR you,'' you said as you held his hand then placed it on your stomach.
