It was a beautiful day in Silevlia. The sun was shining, the breeze was crisp yet warm, and the pond was crystal clear. The mountain-based civilization was very lively today, as it was a big day. He'd been waiting for it ever since his sixteenth birthday; which was about two months ago back in February. The day he would officially become one of the protectors of three of Silevlia's greatest possessions: the three, magic emblems. They were the magic source for all of Silevlia, and without them, it wouldn't go too well. They have been taken away before, but it wasn't for long. Youthful minds may wonder, "Who stole them?", and his name is Zaitorion. His minions tried to steal them, and that's why the Silevlians had the elementals in place for almost 400 years now. About every fifteen years, the oldest and most experienced warrior, Gustight, chooses a new pair of elementals to protect the emblems. This year, him and one of his best friends, Moucreek, are both going to be chosen. He just knew it. Their ancestors were some of the best warriors you could imagine. He attempted to quickly get ready, but it's not like he could do much. His orange, seaweed-coral like hair doesn't keep shape too well.

Do I look okay? I don't want to look bad. Come on, Aquatillian. Stop overthinking! You do it every time!

Aquatillian was quite the overthinker, and was sometimes pretty indecisive. He then heard a knock on the door. He dashed down the oak wood stairs, ran over to the front door, almost slipping and falling in the process. He was a bit shaken after that, as his aqua-teal scales usually stopped that from happening. Aquatillian recovered though, and opened the door very quickly. As he was expecting, it was his best friend, Moucreek.

"Hey! Look at you; you look great!" Aquatillian exclaimed.

He hadn't done much either, but Aquatillian still gave a compliment. Moucreek still had his normal, pale green skin and bushy, dark green hair. He still had his dark green thorns going down his arms, his tree-like antennae, and his light-to-dark green gradient down his arms and legs. His tail was the same as last time as well; the same pale green tail with thorns, leading to a caged up, yellow orb at the end.

Moucreek responded, "Thanks! You look good too, Awk! Ugh, I am so anxious about this, are you?"

"Eh, not really. I just know they will pick us both! No one else has ancestors like us! We have warriors in our blood, and you know that, Mou!"

"Yeah, I know. I just don't really favor being in front of crowds, and being the center of attention."

"Don't worry! It'll be fine. I'll be by your side the whole entire time!"

"Heh, I guess so!"

The two were then startled by the sound of a bell ringing throughout the parts, and it was coming from none other than Gustight. This meant that the ceremony was ready to begin.

"Guess he already wants to start, huh?"

Moucreek was just about to reply when he was then dragged by the wrist to the bell.

"Come on! We can't be late!"

"I'm right here, Aqua."

"Right, sorry. I'm just so excited!"

"Clearly." Moucreek replied playfully.

Hybrids and creatures started making their way over to the bell, and eventually fabricated a large crowd around it. It got louder and louder by the second. It was an amazing sight to see. All the different colors and variations between everyone, it felt so unified. Gustight then started his speech.

"Greetings, everyone. Welcome to the 26th Silevlian Protectors Choosing! Just like every other time in the past, I will pick and choose two new protectors. I will choose them based on their strength, their intelligence, their courtesy, and their flaws. They should have trained their special powers over the years, which are based off of their main element. Now, enough with my shpeel. Will the eligible candidates please step forward?"
