Chapter 1- Colors
Colors are a wonderful thing. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Purple. If you also count cyan, lime, pink, and white, that is my crew. Ten of us, one ship, in it for who knows how long. I'm going to really miss earth. All of its blue oceans, green land, beige sand. All of it.
After the boarding ceremony, after we say all of our goodbyes, we are all forced into a square shaped room. It was made of metal, as I thought it would be. The back corners aren't corners, but more of a diagonal shape. There were some crates, some chairs (ten to be exact), and one big, titanium, mechanical door. We were all assigned a seat to sit in.
What was this room? I guess the boarding room.
We all took our assigned seats, got all settled in, then silence. Silence filled the room and it wasn't going away anytime soon. I've never seen so many colors in one room before.
Why the different colors? Why haven't we even been introduced?
In school I learned about ROY.G.BIV. Everyone does; It's basic. And I will need it. Since everyone in the room is a stranger to each other, I don't think anyone knew what to say. We waited silently until a computer voice said,
"Game Starting in 5, 4, 3.."
Game starting? That must be a glitch.
Then when it got to 1, the mechanical doors that must've weighed a ton, opened. And that is when I was introduced to the Skeld.
Chapter 2- The Skeld
When I entered the Skeld, it seemed very tidy and safe. Of course we went straight to Navigation and from where we came in, it seemed to be on the right. Where we came in, there were about 5 huge crates at least 3 times bigger than me. All of us were amazed about everything, from scale, to tasks, to the decor. When we got to Navigation, everyone took a seat. White was a licensed pilot, so he took the wheel. We all trusted him and counted on him, though we haven't even seen his face. Once everyone got buckled in, the ship must have had weight sensors because as soon as we did, a hologram shows up through the screen and exclaims,
"Greetings astronauts. Welcome aboard the Skeld. All of you are a part of MIRA HQ, correct?"
Waiting for an answer, everyone responded yes. According to all of the voices I heard in that moment, I could tell that every individual in this ship was totally different. Everyone was a different age, different gender, and different mentality. The hologram continued,
"Perfect. Now, here on the Skeld, we call each other by color! The woman in the pink there, you would call pink! Cyan in the back there, you would call cyan! And so on."
Why do we need to do that?
"Now that we have that settled, White, start the engines. We are going to space."
The person that was in the White suit pressed a couple buttons and flicked a couple switches, and the Skeld was ready for liftoff!
BROOMMMMM!
There go the engines.
I can feel the vibrations of the engines starting. At first it was gentle, but then it got violent fast! I don't know how anything would stay standing after that! But then, the vibrations got less and less violent by the second. We were lifting off. I was so distracted by the vibrations that I didn't even hear the T minus 10, 9, 8.. That happens during liftoff. After a couple seconds of pure force against my body, it stopped. We were in space. The hologram popped up again."Greetings fellow Astronauts! Did you approve of your liftoff to space?"
Wanting an answer once more, everyone responded either yes, or no. Personally, I thought it was awesome. Some said, "Nope, not at all.", while some people said, "Heck Yeah!". The hologram then responded with,
"Good! Well it doesn't really matter because you are all going into cryostasis!"
No one said anything about this!
Before we could say or complain about anything, our seats transformed into chambers. The chamber's temperature started to drop gradually over time. About 10 minutes later, it was all a blur.
