Days turned into weeks, one week, two weeks, and then three. Ellie's overthinking got worst and worst, and my questions didn't stop coming, nor asking Valenzuela and the others. They've obviously think I've gone nuts because I kept asking. I was just worried for Ellie, and well... Nicolas.
It's been raining for days, and it's bugging me off. I mean, I do love the rain as much as I love the sun, but I've felt sick staying at home, I have Ellie and Lewis, but outside is different. I groaned, looking out the window. Valenzuela and Rio stood guard tonight, while the other two stayed in their rented house. They should come in, it's raining bad, and I'm guessing, it's cold, too.
Ellie walked in the living room, wearing her pajamas and a hoodie. She sipped her coffee, and then sat beside me.
"You're thinking about it, aren't you?" she asked and then tsked.
I rolled my eyes at her and whined, "Just for tonight? It's so cold and wet outside."
She shrugged, sipping her coffee again. "Your house, not mine."
"It's both ours, if you want, you can pay rent too. But you don't have a job." I said.
"I'll pay you when I get a job." She placed her cup on the table. I looked at her. Is she going to get a job?
"Are you going to find a job?" I asked, amused by her already. She nodded and pouted.
"I don't like my staying here to be free."
I giggled and rolled over. "You give me entertainment, and you feed Lewis sometimes."
She shook her head, "You know what I mean, Ana."
Ellie's the second person to call me Ana. Some people are too lost when it comes to my name, they ask me "why would your name be Oceana?" and then I'd have to explain why. Which, the explanation, was just made up, because I didn't know myself.
Oceana's a pretty name, I actually love my name. The best thing about me, really. I might be a mistake or something, but I do love my name. It fits me perfectly, I think.
"Okay, okay. I do know. Anyways, can we let them in? Just for the night." I showed her my puppy eyes, and then it was her turn to roll her eyes, but she nodded.
I stood up and gave her a big smile, walking at the door, I opened it. Valenzuela stood in front of the door, so I couldn't see where Rio was standing.
I tapped Val's shoulder, he turned around quickly. A tired looking across his face, but it faded as soon as he saw me. Cold eyes gazed back at me.
"Hi!" I said cheerfully, hoping I'd get the good side of my bodyguard. He grunted in response. Yep, moving on. "Um, so... since it's raining really bad, we figured you guys can stay inside for the night?"
Valenzuela stared at me boringly, like he didn't even want to go inside the house, or even think about the house.
Then he said, "We're fine here."
