June.
Maybe I should give up on life.
My so-called friends are doubling over from laughter because apparently, my misery is funny to them. "Bro, only your luck is that bad," Jamie wipes a tear from his eye still not done laughing.
"But like is this girl really that bad?" Jonah asks from behind the kitchen, probably preparing drinks, before the rest of the people arrive at the party.
"She is so rude for no reason," I explain frustrated. Axel nodded agreeing with me, "she ignored my ass and then called me pathetic because I asked her to join our table,"
"Damn, that's harsh," Malu exclaimed from the couch, "now, I wanna see this chick,"
"Me too," that was Jonah once again.
"She is fine, but with that mouth it's not worth it," Jamie tells the group of guys.
A knock erupted from the doorway and Jonah chirped in to go open it. I didn't pay him much attention until I heard a familiar voice, "is Ansel here?"
"He is here, but I would rather keep you company," Jonah was not very subtle with his flirt.
As I expected she just pushed past him and entered the house as if she owns it.
God damn it. Every time I see her, I swear she can't get prettier but she does. And that mini black dress should be a sin on her.
Her eyes scanned the room before they landed on me, she stopped for a full second before rolling her eyes. "Which one of you is Ansel?"
Ansel was in the room upstairs, probably not alone. All the guys gaped at her before Jonah spoke again, "I will go get him,"
"Axel it's her or am I dreaming?" Jamie jabbed Him in his ribs and Axel only glowered and nodded.
She somehow always has the best timing.
"No way that's the rude girl you were talking about?" Malu says still not taking his eyes off her.
That got her attention, and she looked directly at me and Axel. "Talking about me already?"
If looks could kill, she would be dead from Axel's glare. Malu smiled at her, "I would let you call me pathetic any time of the day,"
Usually, girls would fall hard for his Latino accent, and always dig for his dimpled smile but she didn't spare him one glance. Which only made Malu chuckle, "I like her,"
Jonah finally returned followed by a complaining Ansel, "this better be urgent as fuck, I was just about-"
He stopped dead in his track when he saw her before a smile spread across his face. Ansel is probably the biggest player here, and also a drug dealer which is why I'm not one of his biggest fans. "What can I do for you pretty lady?"
She stalks toward him and shows him her phone and his eyes widen in surprise. "You're M.S?"
"Where is my shit?" she asked not caring enough to respond to his question.
"I didn't know you were a girl," he says which only made her roll her eyes. "Well, now you know. where is my Weed?"
Of course she would smoke weed.
"Chill Babe, I will go get it," Ansel flashes her a smile and leaves.
"The feisty kitten smokes," Malu still tries to get a reaction out of her when I finally decide to speak up, "stop it man,"
They all turn to me with confused looks, even her who was acting like I didn't exist stared back at me flashing me one of her wicked smiles. "Still playing the public defendant, Dash?"
"Dash?" I heard Axel ask from beside me but I was too concentrated on her, "still being as rude as always, Mavis?"
"I was thinking you could be more creative, rude is starting to get boring." she retorts back at me.
"Like what? An uptight insolent full of daddy issues kid?" I stand up and walk closer to her, "you're not cool acting all tough and shit, you just sound like a brat who didn't get enough attention as a kid so now she tries to get it by acting indifferent."
The smile was wiped off her face, and she looked like she wants to strangle me. I guess I hit a sensitive spot. I don't know her, I don't know her family issues, I just hit a wild guess. But now, I feel bad. I swear I'm not usually like this but she brings out the worst in me.
"Holy fuck," one of the guys blurted. She stares at me, looking like she has a lot to say but before she could Ansel was back with her stuff, "Hey, what's going here?"
Her eyes move to him and walk in a straight line towards him, take the small plastic bag from him, and shove a bill into his chest before turning around to leave. "Why don't you stay for the party, we can smoke together?" Ansel asks her suggestively.
She doesn't respond to him but instead stops at the door and looks at me one more time, "Keep your opinion to yourself, I won't say it again."
She slams the door behind her and someone blurts a second "holy fuck,"
"What's this girl's problem?" Ansel asks looking completely lost.
Malu just laughs it off before adding, "I think she has a thing for June."
Yeah and that thing is that now she officially hates me, and I have to see her on Monday to work on that stupid project. With the way she looked at me before she left, it's not going to be fun.
Why didn't I just shut my mouth?
