Daniel jumped off his bike- settling it right in front of Mr. Miyagi's house. He opened the door slowly, walking inside. Though Mr. Miyagi had him do another chore yesterday, he was determined to finally learn real karate. He looked around- a large mural framed on one side of the wall, a display of weapons on the other. He looked around... before noticing another door. He walked over to the door, settling his hand on the handle. "Mr. Miyagi? I'm here for..." he then opened the front door. A breeze settled in the air, and he looked around the backyard, his face dropped in shock. It was a whole boardwalk- the deck branching off into a couple of different walkways. He looked around at the gardening, still completely shocked. Then- he looked over to the deck on the far right- spotting Chi. She was wearing a robe-like dress, her long silky hair put up in a pin. She moved gracefully, humming as she danced. Daniel looked at her- butterflies fluttering in his stomach. Everything about her was perfect- he stood there completely still, hypnotized- by Chi.
Chi opened her eyes, and gasped to see Daniel staring directly at her. He turned a flushed color of red, quickly looking away. She felt like she could throw up... not that she was embarrassed- she wasn't, just struck he was watching her. They stared at each other, before Daniel started walking towards her. "That was beautiful." He said, approaching her. "Thank you." she said, quickly removing her robe and placing it on the bench next to her. "It's O-bon dancing. A sacred Okinawan tradition." "Well
It's beautiful. I mean you looked beautiful doing it.! I mean you are beautiful..." Chi laughed, and Daniel gasped in embarrassment, covering his mouth with his hand. Chi smiled warmly. "Try with me?" she asked, grabbing his wrist. He looked down at her hand, a cherry blossom shaped ring slid perfectly onto her finger. He looked up, nodded, and stepped right onto the platform. She placed him in position, and stood directly next to him, gracefully moving her hands. Daniel tried to move along with her, but was distracted by her humming. He tripped a little, and Chi smiled, finding it cute."Hai." the two turned to see Mr. Miyagi standing at the door, with a few buckets of paint. A warm smile settled perfectly on his drawn face. Daniel glanced at the buckets in his hand, and scoffed. He angrily walked up to Mr. Miyagi, who sighed. "C'mon man. When am I gonna learn real karate? I sand your whole goddamn deck yesterday, waxed all your cars before that, and now I gotta..." he looked down at the buckets. "Paint fence." he replied calmly, placing them down. Chi watched nervously, biting at her fingernails. Daniel ran his hands through his hair. Mr. Miyagi patted his back, and smiled. "Come Daniel-san. Breathing first." Chi smiled warmly at them, then continued her dancing. "Place hands like this." Daniel sighed. "Look man, I'm not religious-" He was interrupted by a parade of laughter from Mr. Miyagi. "No need pray. Need breath." He then put his hands in position, and started the breathing exercise. Chi watched them whilst dancing- trying to stay focused. Daniel followed along with Mr. Miyagi- and after 5 minutes, felt way better. He immediately looked over to Chi, mesmerized by her dancing. Mr. Miyagi sighed, looking back and forth between the two. "Churasan- inside. Daniel better focus." Daniel blushed, trying not to turn pink from embarrassment. Chi simply smiled, and headed inside. Mr. Miyagi handed Daniel a paintbrush, and walked away. Daniel sighed- still a bit frustrated, and got to work. Soon enough, the day was over, and Daniel had finished painting the whole fence. Mr. Miyagi nodded in approval, and an exhausted Daniel sat on the deck, drinking an iced tea. Mr. Miyagi walked inside, and Chi walked out- her hair still up in pins, and her robe still tied around her waist tightly. Daniel raised his head slightly, knowing it was her. He smiled as she sat down next to him, a whiff of cherry blossom perfume lingering in the air. "I'm really excited for tomorrow..." she said, a slight breeze flowing by. "Yeah... totally." he said, looking down at her with a smile. "Hey listen... I know this all seems stupid, and you think your just doing some old man's chores, but believe me... you won't regret it." "I'm trying really hard to believe that... he said, laughing. Chi giggled. "I understand that. And just for heads up- he's gonna make you do one more chore, but just get it over with and you'll see the reason for doing all of this." Daniel frowned in frustration, but nodded to Chi. "I'm sorry I got really angry at him today. It was stupid. I'll try my best to..." "Breathe?" Chi said, smiling. "Yeah..." he said, a smirk growing on his face.
