After those small two sentences, a huge smile appeared on his face. I swear I just saw flowers everywhere. How can someone be so cute? Anyways, at least now I have a way to pass time.

*timeskip to PE*

Still Xiao's POV

The previous two classes were kind of boring without Venti. There was no one pestering me with stupid jokes every few minutes. After walking to the gym, I just remembered... I have to change in front of other people. Fuck. Why do we even have PE uniforms? Like, I get it's for us to not smell sweaty and shit, but like, bruh. I don't want anyone to talk to me about my arms. I'm perfectly fine. Yeah, perfectly fine...

I tried to change as quickly as I could, and no one paid much attention to me. What a relief. I wonder where Venti is. Shouldn't he be here changing too? Maybe he already finished and is with Hu Tao in the gym. Getting out of the locker room, I see Hu Tao blocking Venti in a corner. The boy looked as if he had seen a ghost, shivering uncontrollably. What in the world was happening? Rushing over, I scoot Hu Tao over to the left more.

"What happened?" I asked, concerned. I stare at Hu Tao. Guess it wasn't her doing. Her eyes looked like they were trying to hold back tears. What went on during the last two periods?

"Nothing, let's- let's get going. We might be late" was all Venti said, trying to calm down his voice in between breaths and heading towards the gym door.

"Yeah, let's ge-get going" Hu Tao tried to back Venti up, following behind.

I rose an eyebrow at them, before following them too. They tried to avoid eye contact and avoid the subject. I figured I would ask later again, but drop it for now. Everyone had assigned seats so I had to ask the teacher where to go. Now, I'm sitting next to this boy with long white fluffy hair, stretching. He reminded me of a puppy I found in the streets with Yoimiya a few years ago, but luckily, we found the rightful owner.

"Alright class! I have finished taking attendance, and now, we play! Listen for your name, as I am dividing the class in half. It's your guys' favorite. Dodgeball!"

A few people cheered while others groaned. I was a bit nervous, but didn't let it show. After all, I don't find myself the most terrible when it comes to physical activity. Now was time to wait patiently for my name to be called.

"Alright, for red team, we have Diluc, Ningguang, Xingqiu, Chongyun... -bedo.........umine........." "ALRIGHT! IF YOU DIDN'T HEAR YOUR NAME, YOU ARE ON BLUE!"

"Looks like we are on the same team Xiao. This will be fun!" Hu Tao secretly snuck up behind me and laughed. She looks better than before, and so does Venti.

"Yeah! I have to warn you though, I'm not usually the best in dodgeball, so you have to carry me. Heh" Venti spoke out, stroking and playing his braids lightly.

"Don't worry Venti! We got this! Even if you do get out, I'll avenge you!" she exclaimed, giving him a thumbs up. She stared at me and I felt obligated to nod.

"Same."

...Liar. He was actually pretty good. Same with Hu Tao. Every time they would throw a ball, it looked deadly. Venti's speed and precision looked as if he was shooting an arrow. Hu Tao's strength looked as if she was slashing with a spear. In short, we won. It wasn't easy though. Everyone in this school was pretty skilled. After the game finished, I headed back to the locker room with Venti. Hu Tao said she would wait for us in from of the girl's locker room. Luckily, his locker was at the end on the room— a bit far from mines, giving me a quick while to change without him seeing anything. I finished before he arrived in his normal clothes, and we headed out.

"Wahh, good thing it's lunch now. I'm too tired to do anything else" Hu Tao whined, while we all walked. The cafeteria wasn't that far, so we managed to get in line pretty early.
