Chapter 25: The real culprit

Just like last time when Bondita was caught and blamed as a spy when the truth of her disguise of Vaijayanti was out, Anirudh didn't utter a word in her favour being well aware about her innocence due to his trust for her, he trusted that she would never do anything wrong but still he remained mum thinking about the consequences of supporting an enemy from Krishna Nagar. Eventually, she got punished for the mistake she never did and went to Kashi becoming a Sanyasini.

Today when the history was repeating, when she was getting blamed for burning down the chalet, Anirudh didn't wanted to repeat his mistake by remaining silent this time. "Maa, tujhe lagta hai teri Bondita aise kaam kar sakti hai?" She asked with her eyes filled with tears. "Nahi! Meri Bondita kabhi aise kaam nahi kar sakti." Sumati replied cupping her face. No. He will not stay quiet. He was about to speak for her when suddenly a manly familiar voice came from behind "Haw udi baba! Gojob gojob gojob!" Everyone turned behind and was shocked to see the owner of the voice.

It was Probeen who used to be Chandrachur's minion, who was caught as spy once. He was the one who was basically responsible for creating this misunderstanding that Bondita came to Tulsipur as a spy since he himself mistook the fact. Everyone was taken aback to see him in Fernsby mansion's servent's uniform. "Ho maan gaye, maan gaye aapko Bondita didi." Probeen uttered with a stupid expression. "Meri Bondita didi ka dimaag lomdi se bhi tez ha." His words were again proving their doubts that Bondita was at fault, just as last time.

While everyone was busy thinking that how and why Probeen was here, Anirudh was just gritting his teeth and gripping his fists into a ball as if getting ready to break his jaws for wrongly accusing her. Probeen was laughing like a maniac as if he was supporting Bondita. Thus Anirudh was about retreat, that's when he heard another sound of laughter. This time, a feminine yet an evil one.

"Ha ha ha...." Bondita was laughing along with Probeen as soon as he completed his sentence. The tears which were flowing few seconds ago were still lingering on her face. But now seeing her laughter, nobody could say that she was crying few minutes ago. She wiped away the left over tears from her face still laughing and uttered "Sorry, wo glycerin khatam ho gaya. Huff!" She sighed and continued looking at the crowd "wo kya hai na, magarmach ke aansu bahane mere bas ki baat nahi hai."

Sumati turned her around forcefully and asked "ye sab kya hai Bondita" but she turned her face away towards her student. "Girls, we don't have time to waste, inn logo ka toh pata nahi par hum Britishers time ki bohot value karte hai." She spoke out indirectly looking at Anirudh. "Aap sab log apne kamre mein jaao, jo chapter abhi padhaya, just revise them." Saying this the girls went out of the classroom sarcastically glaring at the Indian girls team while they did the same.

"Aur aapne bilkul sahi kaha" she turned to glare at Sumati "Bondita aise kabhi nahi kar sakti. Kyu jo bhi hua wo Suzie ne kiya" she whispered the last part which was only audible to Anirudh, Thakuma and Sumati.

Sumati caught her wrist tightly and asked her "Ye sab kya hai Bondita, kya ho gaya hai tuj..." before she could complete her sentence, Bondita jerked her hold away and pushed her all of a sudden. But Thakuma and Tapur held her on time before she could fall. She pointed her forefinger towards Sumati and warned "Himmat kaise hui aapki? Aap jaisi maamuli vidwa, Suzie Fernsby ko haath bhi kaise laga sakti hai?" "Bondita!" Yelled Anirudh and said gritting his teeth "bhulo mat ye kaun hai" "Aur aap mat bhuliye ki aap kaha khade hai Mr. Roy Choudhury" he was snapped by Phillips who reached there hearing the ruckus.

Sumati who was already taken back by seeing her behavior was unable to utter a word now as if she had gone numb. Thakuma who noticed this state of her understood her condition and quickly asked Tapur to take her away from this place. Tapur held Sumati and did as her Thakuma said and went towards home.
