The break was indeed short. After about 15 minutes of stretching and relaxing their limbs, the Esperanza's started on continuing their journey. Ernesto scanned around the area as they moved in a slightly slowed pace. It took them a while, but they finally found a small area, a path way, that would probably take them to the other end of the mountain. As they did so, the ground was slowly elevating as they continued up a short hill.
The sun was almost setting, the sky already having a slightly orangey hue indicating the near end of the day. Valentina was on the roof of the carriage once again, gazing up at the sky, letting her hair flow freely by the gentle breeze. The surrounding was peaceful, it was as if there wasn't a strong storm a few moments ago.
Valentina then noticed that they were almost at the top of the hill. Her head facing forward, now looking at the back of her Tio's head. The girl moved slightly forward, her legs now dangling on the edge, now sitting a little beside Ernesto. They both shared a peaceful silence as the carriage moved. Valentina closed her eyes, breathing in deeply, her right hand beside her, gripping on the carriage roof to refrain her from falling over, while her left hand was gently laying on her lap.
The silence was then interrupted by a faint noise, yet a familiar noise of an explosion ahead of them. Valentina's eyes immediately shot open, startled. Ernesto's eyes darted to where the sound came from, him stopping the carriage as they were now on top of the hill.
Both Valentina and Ernesto's eyes widened. The sound of explosions continued. Valentina's eyes stared directly at the scene in front of her. The explosions were..
"Fireworks.." Valentina whispered, her mind still processing on what she's seeing. Ernesto however gazed down, his eyes landing on the familiar structure of buildings and houses.
"Tina." Ernesto said towards the girl sitting close to him. Valentina, not even looking away from the fireworks display, hummed softly letting her Tio know she heard him.
"I think we're finally here." He stated as he smiled softly, looking at the awestruck face of his niece. Without a minute longer, Ernesto finally tugged on the leash again, the carriage now back in motion as they proceeded to head to the town.
----------
The fireworks died down a bit, having only faint pops at times. Valentina and her familia are now on the grounds of the buzzling town. Music was heard around them, people chatting in one area, kids playing, running around laughing and giggling while others went in and out of small shops and people looking around the stalls. There were a few people looking towards the carriage as it slowly went on a complete stop.
Alehandra stepped down the carriage, motioning for her kids to stay inside as she approached a lady from one of the stalls.
The lady quickly noticed Alehandra approaching and smiled, "Hola! May I help you with something?" the lady asked. Alehandra smiled at this, "Hola dear, may I ask what this amazing town his called?" she asked politely.
