Omg look who's back meeeeeeee 💀

=========================================

"Many think me a fiend. Think I'm the devil's spawn. Some think I'm their mates' murderer or that I've harvested their souls. Others think I was born to destroy male wolves' mates, breaking their cold hearts in the process. Most think I should be hunted, to stop my 'monstrous' heart. And few see me as an eighteen-year-old girl, who doesn't even know if she has a mate, what she is, or how she's able to morph into the mates of male wolves when eyes locked.

But all these "thinks" are just rumors, making no one know who I am, what I am, or what my morphing abilities mean for their mates. But of course, they have to give me a name, which I have many; Cacodemon, Succubus, Imp, and even Hellhound. But the most common, and personally my favorite epithet I've been given is Masquerading She-Wolf.

Though the last thing I would have thought was when my eyes locked with his, I wouldn't morph."

*A little bit of a disclamer, I might not sound very jumpy or excited as some of my earlier reviews here, but that does not mean that this book is not as good. Its absolutely phenomenal, trust me. (I've been binge watching jack edwards and lets just say I have been inspired by his book review style; so I'm trying to be a little more reflective with this review)

The Masquerading She-Wolf is another stellar piece of writing.

Now here's what I particularly love about this book. The writing is great, the storyline is well developed, the characters are realistic and aren't deficit in IQ. But the best part about this book was that the author put their own little twist on the traditional werewolf 'world', and that made this a really refreshing read compared to the general wattpad content.

The one other thing that particularly stood out to me was the portrayal of feminism(?). Now, I am guilty of gravitating towards books with either absolute badass female leads or those with shy female protagonists with a stronger compassionate alpha/king mate. (its a mood yknow ;) But if you're looking for something that stands as close to reality as fictional personalities go, something that embodies the (almost) perfect middle ground between those two extremes that a characters' portrayal can take. This book is for you.

She's still badass, but not unrealistically badass.

*Highest rating is 5

Storyline - (3.75/5) 💣💣💣💣 Now, don't get me wrong, the storyline is absolutely amazing. Its clearly well thought out but the book wouldn't necessarily sell on the weight of the plot itself. The author has done a great job in thinking through the protagonists' scenes, however, a few of the supporting characters are really lacking detail in their plotlines. And that lack of attention sometimes makes the 'world' of the book fall apart.

But if you don't think too hard about those loopholes and just focus on our two lovebirds, then yep, all's well.

Smut - (2.5/5) 🍦🍦🍦 The author doesn't write smut (they specify that in the introduction of the book itself) but a few scenes do get steamy, right before the next-morning-timeskip comes.

Writing and Grammar - (5/5)📝📝📝📝📝 Well written.

Character Descriptions and Development - (4.5/5) 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️  They are realistically smart, and they make rational, well thought-out decisions. The protagonists aren't the absolute gods of fighting, and I like that. I appreciate it. Its middle ground.

Except for a few of the side characters who don't have well written personalities and hence lack in character development. Yes, I took the 0.5 off for that ;(

Alpha obnoxiousness level - (0/5) He's a good guy, and his actions, his words, his demeanor makes perfect logical sense. He's a man written by a woman, so yes, he's exquisite.

The comments who called him dumb, you have low IQ. I'm sorry. Don't read this book if you're not willing to use your brain 😑. The author doesn't deserve the shade they were giving her in the comments for writing a perfectly logical plotline.
