BOOK 1 OF THE GIFT CHRONICLES

••• When the Moon Goddess created the first werewolves, she split one soul between the two of them, thus creating a perfect soulmate for every werewolf thereafter, known as their mate. Upon the birth of a werewolf, she assigns them with a supernatural ability, known as their Gift•••

Ares is a killer. During the day, she is busy fulfilling her duties as the Gamma of her pack. However, before anyone wakes, she sneaks out to unclaimed territory and assassinates rogues to avenge her parents' murder. The Moon Goddess made the mistake of granting her the ability to materialize weapons at will, and Ares fully intended to use her powers as much as she could to deal out vigilante justice.

Cain, the cruel Alpha of the Blood Lake Pack, has given up on finding his mate. At 28 years old, it seems unlikely that he will ever find her. All hope is lost until he meets the shockingly violent Gamma from a neighboring pack. His only problem is, she won't go with him easily.

All right. Here we come to this review. Honestly, I was surprised that I hadn't done this one yet. Idk why that happened?

So, the book is definitely one of the best ones out there if you're looking for some bloody brutal action - as I'm sure is clear from the description. Because the female protagonist - Ares, is one hell of a woman.

You'll be on the edge of your metaphorical seat, cursing Cain to the depths of hell and shouting support to Ares throughout the book. From the very first chapter to the very last one.

All I can say is... GO ADD IT TO YOUR LIBRARY!

Storyline - (4/5) 💣💣💣💣💣 (A really good plotline. The author uses the concept of gifts quite well.

(Can't say the same about the sequel though, I still have mixed reactions for that one... but then, it's still ongoing, so I can't really give a definitive review.))

Smut - (1.5/5) 🍦 (PG-13. )

Writing and Grammar - (4/5)📝📝📝📝📝(The author is really good. Though the writing isn't exceptional and unique (like King Micajah or subsequent books by that author), it is good enough to rival a published author.)

Character Descriptions and Development - (5/5) 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️ (I think this was one of the major good points of this book. Both the characters are violent, and to give such characters a relatable personality without compromising on the action is a mindblowing feat. The author aced this.

Character development gets a full rating from me.)

Alpha King Obnoxiousness level: (2.5/5) (He is shown to be conservative.. sorry - VERY conservative.

And that is definitely a huge annoyance sometimes. But the good thing is that he improves

In fact the plot of the story, in a way, is on the fight against the conservative thoughts/systems. That, is liberating to read.)

Overall score: 90%
